No Gero? who is 2-3 on Klara. Thank goodness Novotny had enough sense to not throw her away. There are still a lot of people who appreciate her hardness she passed on and realized bad hips could be reduced by selective breeding, instead of throwing the baby out with the bath water.

I heard there was a klara son that stopped 82 people from crossing the border. Later that night, he hand chiseled a mahogany hobby horse with one piece of wood.

Are there any published books or magazine articles with some history on czech and/or DDR dogs?  I've heard there is a DDR GSD book in german only that hasn't been translated to english.

My male Lucas has the PS lines, no linebreeding but has Xero, Grim, Tina and Kaso.  I have to say I ADORE him. He is a phenomonal worker, LOVES to track, great with the bitework, and is always ready to work.  He is also the class clown, responds quicker to butt head than Lucas, and he is the reason quit being a jackass is a command at my house.  I didn't get him for the pedigree I hadn't even looked at it when I got him, I knew what I needed in a dog to do what  I wanted and when I went to look at him, it was love at first sight.  I do laugh when people see him when we are out and say oh I want a dog just like that, because I'm thinking oh no you probably don't, he can be quite a handful.  He is however the love of my life, and I could not imagine not having him.

Is all the knowledge regarding these lines passed by "word of mouth" only?
