  • I'm going to be OFA x-raying my two Shepherds soon, and have been thru that process enough times to know what info is needed on the x-rays for submission... One of the two I would like to send in to SV for their rating also, but don't know what info is needed...   Reg name, AKC # and Tattoo on the dog... what else is needed?  Ike got his SG rating this past spring under Herr Scheld, but I may not be able to title him for his adult ratings I'd like to get the SV rating on his hips.
  •  Neither of the "kids" will be going anywhere regardless of the results, so I'm not as nervous as I used to get when my focus was on breeding.  The reason for the x-rays are primarily for the infomation of their breeders, and as a buyer of a WL dog my responsibility to them and the breed to get done.  They're family regardless.

I copied this off of UScA's website....

USA/SV A-Stamp/Elbow Evaluation Program

The “a” stamp hip/elbow evaluation program, offered by the Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde (SV) in Germany, is available through the United Schutzhund Clubs of America for German Shepherd Dogs residing in the United States.
Requirements for this program are as follows:
  1. Only German Shepherd Dogs may apply for this program.
  2. On the day the x-ray is taken, the dog must be at least one year of age or older.
  3. Only German Shepherd Dogs with registration papers/pedigree(s) recognized by the SV Office can participate. That means either SV registration papers or a pedigree that was issued in a foreign country by an organization that is a member of the FCI.
  4. All German Shepherd Dogs x-rayed for this program must be visibly tattooed or microchipped.
  5. Once submitted, the x-rays become the property of the SV Office where they are kept on file. All original documents submitted for this program will be returned to the owner by the USA Office.
The following information must be exposed on the identification plate of the x-ray:
  1. Complete registered name of the dog, as it appears on the registration papers/pedigree
  2. Registration number
  3. Tattoo and/or microchip number
  4. Date of birth
  5. Date the X-Ray was taken
  6. Name of current owner
  7. Name of veterinarian, business address and/or hospital/clinic
  8. X-rays being submitted that have missing information, please contact the USA Office for further instructions. X-rays that have been altered after exposure will not be accepted and returned to the owner.

You can also submit through WDA if you are a member of that organization.
