No, He did not buy the VA 1 Title, HE PURCHASED A SUPERB DOG WITH A VERY SUCCESSFUL CAREER AND MORE THAN CAPABLE TO ACHIEVE THE VA 1 TITLE IN HIS OWN RIGHT.
They both deserve it, worked hard for it.

I did not say he did..is a rumor,I am asking if anyone heard it....... but if you are talking about a successful dog, 1.ARAK is oversized, that is why he never competed in Germany after the young class nor received a V or VA in the top show BundenSieger Zuchshaus and just this alone should have him not making VA let alone winning, ANYONE IN SHOWS KNOW THIS...2. He is very poor in bitework.....3.He lacks predominantly black face and neck...4. He is a thin, narrow dog..sorry,just stating the facts

He passed the bitework, so I guess that was not so poor as to be noticeably worse than others.

Rumors, I am glad that the poster place that word on his post. Arak is a beautiful dog and the fact that he was never in any Comp. in Germany dosen't take away from his bloodline or credits. Any dog that can produce quality showmanship is a winner. For some he may be oversized but that is on some eyes and opinions; for other he is just perfect. Is my believe that Arak in the US will go far places, so will Taureg; with proper breeding and selective females, Arak will move forward.

In any competition, timing is a key, 2011 is the time for Tureg, a great dog whom a lot of work and effort has paid its joy, perhaps the previous preparation he got before arriving in Fl. The previous owner put in a lot of work, and the confidence of its new owner made him shine. Arak is just as good. I have full confidence on Arak and his potentials, there is a lot that goes into preparing a dog for a ring, and he just arrived.
Arak will move forward as well, two good dogs to watch for in Fla. My best wishes are to Jose and Rodrigo for all the effort on bringing these bloodlines to America, and all regardless my differences,  A good dog deserves its merits!

Forgive me for my ignorance, I know very little about show dogs.  But I was under the impression there was a written standard for size?

Autobahn, is correct and that is what I meant.  Sure there are guidelines, a judge can fallow them or bend them depending on how the dog overall performs, and there is a lot that plays during a judge decision. But you are both correct, there are guidelines and not always they are fallowed. So it is on whose eyes and what they are looking for during a show. Arak will do well, regardless of his size, we seen this before.

Judges do their work, sometimes they are correct and sometimes they are not and maybe influenced by let us say the trend or powerful breeders etc, but still we should give our opinions and judgements based on the standard, when we give an opinion which does not go by the standard we should mention that otherwise the newbies would get confused and we would be encouraging further slipping away from the standard.
Example, XXXXX dog is oversized as per the standard but other than that he's almost perfect, and or if bred to smaller bitches offspring will be great, and or him being oversized does not justify removing him from being a remarkable stud.
Arguments shouldn't go to; so what! many other dogs are oversized like xxxx dog, or guidelines are not followed, let's not justify faults of a dog because others have the same and are getting away with it. Just my opinion with no offense to any or to the subject dog which I don't know and never seen.
