| My thoughts also. Surely you report the breeder to the relevant authority and then buy your puppy elsewhere? It doesn't add up to me. |

| I don't know either parties involved, and I lean on the caution of "there are three sides to every story;" however, I did have to comment on some minor tidbits presented above: "They thought that her not being desexed may have been an issue because the other dog they have was, the breeder was told the other dog they have is a female but never once did she say to them that they shouldn't have 2 females together, now that's a responsible breeder isn't it????" I thought it was always common belief with any breed of dog that there is a higher propensity for dog aggression between two dogs if they are of the same sex? "Oh one other thing I forgot to mention in my above post was that this breeder knew they we're looking for an older dog not a real young pup so this is why she showed them this particular pup.. " Why didn't the buyer ask to see an older dog once they were shown a puppy? Just because a breeder shows you a puppy doesn't mean you have to buy it. "They told me there was a little boy pup there that was around 8-10 weeks that was so timid even to the breeder and only had one testical down...... What type of breeder is this???" One that your friend decided to purchase a dog from anyways? (even with [supposed] red flags) "If you rescued a pup from a breeder..." Again, not knowing the breeder in question, I have to say that here in the United States, we have what are called "backyard breeders" (not to be confused with hobby breeders.) I am speaking on a general sense of the term and not labeling any parties aforementioned as a "backyard breeder." They are often persons who breed animals solely to sell them and make money. Their dogs are usually poor quality: health and temperament-wise, etc. The problem is people tend to think with their hearts than they do with their heads. You don't rescue a dog from a breeder. If there are red flags going off as you have mentioned above, why would you support someone like that? Feel sorry for the dog, sure, but when a person buys a puppy from an individual in which there are obvious problems and red flags, you are only supporting their business. |
