Gouda:  You are into show lines, not working lines.  Just as I am into working lines not show lines.  Therefore your knowledge about working lines in your area is probably pretty limited , as is mine about show lines.  This was not an insult, it was an observation based in logic.

It's very unfortunate, bad hips, elbows, shoulders, spines are in our breed and it goes across all lines, working, show and everything in between.  It's a very big problem.

By the same token, it's only fair to lay the blame where it truly belongs.  You can't paint every stud dog with a scarlet letter just because in a litter a pup comes up with dysplasia, since he might not even be the cause.

Good working line breeders care just as much as good show line breeders about  overall health.  A dog that has monster grips, drives to spare and courage to beat the band isn't worth a hill of beans if he is too crippled to catch the helper.

I brought up the guarantee because a lot of people seem to think they are home free so long as they have that piece of paper and that piece of paper really doesn't mean much.  It's a very false sense of security.

 gouda:

I love you like no other gouda in my life, That being said I don,t know about the "stahl situation" but i can guarantee that " Its true Bob the mentality of a lot of W.L. breeders is, if it can bite and has drive, breed it" isn,t the norm.

But without a name or alteast the sire and dam,s name your just picking a fight and can,t back it up. Now if you watch all of the video,s of the BSZS just recently posted on this data base these are supposed to be the best out there. Yes there show lines but first and for most there German Shepherd and were bred and designed to work so with that in mind what would you call the work they are posted doing? in your honest opinion is it good or even acceptable for a dog bred to be a working line dog?. I don,t care what the standard says or what the judge said What is your opinion ?.

If you are not willing, or your friend is not willing to say who the breeder is, than there is no point to this thread.

It is helping no one, and never should have been started.  We know there are crap breeders, and  hypocritical breeders in both lines.  The only way buyers can avoid them, is if we know who they are.

Hi Bob

Seeing Im the only gouda you know, your statement about loving me is worthless, unles you believe im a big cheese,Ha , Ha.
Oh by the way, what  is the  percentage of working line studs that bred the dogs in these BSZS videos, I,ll bet it isnt anywhere near 30 percent.

If it were they probably would work better, atleast that 30 %. It would help your argument if you could present reliable content.

Ruger1

Ruger I shure did not expect you to get inolved in any of my posts, for the simple reason you never ever did when it was a religious posts where I was getting hammered. I guess you figured you would be loosing points with all the antichristian posters hear. But now you do participate in my post,is it because you can win some points with your antichristian posters?   I posted this because to come to the aid of Sthal.Although I do not agree with him on breeding his stud,he did not try to hide it from anyone hear.  This proves to me that he is a better person then the breeder that
kept it a secret.
Ruger and Red Sable instead of asking me why I posted this, why not ask the breeder to step forward.

Never seen a christian post from you here Ruger1.Do you not beieve these people hear
should be saved? I certainly do.  Not much time left, cant keep my mouth shut.

Is the breeder on this board?  LOL, the chances of them stepping forward are slim to none Gouda, but we can try.

Two HD  shipped to the same place in Ontario Canada, will the guilty party please come forward.  Time to fess up and make amends.

Regarding Shtal, I agree with you to a point. I know some  well thought of breeders that do worse things than breed large dogs, IMHO.  Sometimes it seems a case of who you know, and what you know, more than what is right.  I woudn't buy from them either Gouda.

What gets me Gouda is don't you think you have given enough clues for this to be pieced together... by someone? And didn't you promise not to reveal this information to the PDB? How do you justify that promise with starting this thread? That is an error in your judgment, so I think you should have gone about defending Shtal in a different way. Your anxiety is perhaps, clouding things for you? You are even picking on Ruger1 and she conquered her fears to speak out on Shtal's behalf, on the other thread.

  RED SABLE:

IT is not an uncommon thing to get sold a pup out of a TOP CONTENDER or dam of the TOP kennel in the usa and have bad hips.

I had it done to me..AND the breeder has had many hips bad on pups he bred his WELL KNOWN STUD to..

A man head of one of our Texas schutz clubs got one of them..HE did nothing for him either.
HE cussed me and denied the vets digital disc and just went right on acting like a bull in a field of mud and carrying on as he always has.   Mine doesn't matter. BUT as an example.

So do not discount  GOUDA's friend,  as he is not the only nor will he be the last ..BUT  when you have a contract that says it is to be honored and the honor falls in the ditch too...I would be mad also and want to bring it out to the public. BUT at that , no litter has all good hips in them. Some may but not every litter born to any stud or dam can be all passing hips.

In germany, the breed warden oversees the litter from the day it is born.  Only so many pups can be kept . THEN what?   WE do not have rules like that here.  I do not know what they do if lots of bad hips are born to a known sv registered dog..MAYbe someone here can explain how they do it in GERMANY or BELGIUM   where the stud I had dealings with came from.

All bloodlines have posibilities and all bloodlines can produce bad hipped pups..CRAP SHOOT said  how many of our reputible breeders on their websites that sell gsd pups to the public?

TWO males w bad hips from same breeder would be something I would not want to have to handle either...Time wise,,most do not realize the man in his  club has wasted two years of his precious time and money and training .  SO no blame?  dam or sire?

When you sign up as a breeder and you sell with a contract..you become responsible to do the right thing and when 2x you send out to same person a bad hipped animal...  OK  who gets to fix it NOW?

gouda, hello

You promised not to expose his/her name, you can tell us the first and last letters of the breeder's name and hopefully  RS or Ninja will figure it out for us and you don't break your promise.

Just tell the blood lines and not the breeder

that is enough to  see what lines it came from anyway...Heck with who bred the dog..

Lines are all over the USA

I know gouda's friend isn't the only, or the last YR, that is why I'm hoping they'll change their mind and divulge the information.  He maybe isn't going to pursue this anymore, but it would be nice if he could save others the grief.

However, that is up to him.  I understand him not wanting to make waves.  He is obviously a good man.
