Heritage Kennels offers true "Gentle Giants" by tamko63 on 21 September 2011 - 23:10 |
| I have had the opportunity to get 3 dogs from Barbara over the years. She has more knowledge about German Shepherd Dogs, Labs and Great Pyrennes than anyone that I have ever met. She, and her family, stand 100% behind every dog that leaves her kennel. I visit as frequently as I can and there has never been a time that the grounds of her facility have not been immaculate. The last Shepherd that I purchased from her topped 110 pounds on his 1st birthday. I had a police officer approach me and ask about him and he concluded by saying, that if my Shepherd was a K-9 than his much smaller Shepherd was a K-8. |

If her dogs top 110 pounds at 1 year old, maybe she doesn't know as much about the German Shepherd Dog as you think. |

| I'm sorry but if I had a GSD that was 110lbs at age 1 and not overweight I'd be returning it to the breeder. |

LMAO @ Ace!! Tamko what was the point of the post? |
by GSDPACK on 22 September 2011 - 00:37 |
| The point was that in need we can have more meat!..or fat! |

| That's cool. I have a plastic hammer. |

| Chaz, I have a brand new pair of roller skates. |
by Chaz Reinhold on 22 September 2011 - 01:31 |
| Yeah, but roller skates are useful. |

| Call the Gentle Giants but don't call them German Shepherd Dogs. At least Panda Shepherds are not called GSDs. There is a reason. |

| Who wants a Gentle Giant.............I don't like fat men............! Or even oversized men.....why would somebody want a xtra large dog that isn't suppose to be that big? Take it easy on this person...........maybe he/she is just uneducated......... YB |

| I had a police officer approach me and ask about him and he concluded by saying, that if my Shepherd was a K-9 than his much smaller Shepherd was a K-8. Ohhhh brother. Thanks for the laugh. I bet his much smaller Shepherd could work though. |

| Tamko63, I suggest you start talking to people who own GSD's. This isn't exactly the type of advise most would recommend. http://www.heritagekennels.net/Health%20and%20build%20information%20on%20the%20German%20Shepherd%20Dog/Health%20and%20build%20information%20on%20the%20German%20Shepherd%20Dog.html |

| Some interesting grammar on the web page, perhaps spelling is the breeders big point. For me this about $$$$, and screwing the naive out of their hard earned cash, more shiloh sh*te.... damaging the breed for greed! Ronin |

You must not have met a lot of people. |

| Wowsa, really? That website is fraught with misinformation. Run! Run away! |

| Ilike the part where they are underlined :) O well it is easy to poke fun at others but I guess they have a market for pet people only. Knowlegeble folk will continue breeding our miniaturized shepherds. :) Nothing like a K8 coming at you at rocket speed.........I can not figure out how people miss the part in the standard the expresses that a GSD is a MEDIUM sized dog.... |

| Someone brought a dog from their kennel to our training group a few times for help with agression. She was definitely neither gentle, nor a giant (looked to be well within the standard on size). Obviously not a kennel to recommend to anyone! |

| I've added this breeder's website to my "FAIL" bookmarks. If it wasn't so sad and detrimental to the breed it would be funny. I'm still trying to figure out the part in the news where it says they now have more pics of their pedigrees on the site, and then you go to the pedigrees page and it is just random tiny pics of dogs, not a pedigree in sight. Wonder if that is what they think a pedigree is? Also, lost count of how many times Shepherd was spelled incorrectly. The description of types and saying there are 3 colors then it goes on to describe 1 or maybe 2 colors (I'm not sure) is hysterical. Also, did you know you can detect hip dysplasia by watching the parents? Wow, Annette |
