Excellent post, Jennifer, that goes to the heart of the matter.  Like you, I too have had GSDs that aren't breedworthy, the difference between us and Shtal being that we are knowledgeable enough about the breed and ethical enough in our personal conduct to know that such dogs should never be bred.

Shtal could have obtained such knowledge about the tendency for greater health problems in oversized dogs from any number of people who post right here, but instead chose to spend time posting endless Bible-thumping nonsense over on the OT Forum.

This is why I'm starting a campaign for mandatory spaying/neutering of certain phenotypes of the human species.  Still working out the kinks but I think I know where my 1st "experiment" will begin, after all "It is my right".   Here kitty kitty.

  SHTAL"

HEY THERE  and greetings from Texas   I ask you   ....

HAve you taken a GOOD look at the Sway back your male has...HIS back line is terrible..NOW you ask I gave.. IT is an honest opinion

ALso please my brother,   trim that dogs weight down...NOW you know YR tells it like she sees it so bare with me..... THIS male is your experiment...so now you kept a pup...

Please watch him as he grows..keep his weight down    way down...OFA pup at age 15months to know where you stand on hips??ok

NOW I close to tell you ...I love large pups   HERE IS MY  RITO  TAKEN TODAY...HE HAS A HUGE HEAD but it is his neck that goes down and runs straight into backline..no dip.
First Fault you need to correct is the  sway back and the way his back line is not straight. Do you see what I am telling you.   Back should be straight not dipped behind shoulders.

MY boy has a few faults too  but he only weighs  84 lbs and is a tiny bit overweight..HE needs to lose  6 or 7 lbs..
This is RiTO:  He came to visit today...  Rito is out of my OFA Excellent ofa  Hipped  Tripl H Arma Tiac and  Tripl H Czuiker

HIS hips are OFA  FAIR..

RITO came to visit Ganny.. Ganny always takes pictures.   lol
Infact Rito has a birthday in one day...Sept 24    HAPPY BIRTHDAY RITO!!

YR, I'm serious. It says SVT at the top of the dog's pedigree, and I don't know what that means.

Not talking about YOU  MS  California  ....lol

SVT is the dogs name......I assume..   Usa   ( like   Ima   ura  )

It is perfectly ok to ask Shtal questions and give critiques.   even hard ones....but some are making FUN of him...do not accept that....

I do not know what a    AKC     Certified Stud dog is either / but I bet he will tell us.

I would guess,  that instead of certified stud dog....he means  or someone means...they guarantee he has been proven to produce./???

Will wait on the answer and not guess..

Shtal has not given any indication of any working titles or any kind of group he is in so I assumed it is a NAME

Wait and see

SVT was a designation given by Ford to the Mustang Cobras that had more horsepower and torque than the regular GT mustangs.  True story.

Hey guys!

It's really easy for me to determine who is wise among you on this forum that offers kindness and who is fools among you here that offers hate.
Let's take a careful look here; who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.

From Shtal :-)

Not as easy as it is for most of us to determine who is wise enough to respect the breed standard and who the ignorami are that blow it off.  As for good behavior, that doesn't include breeding grossly oversized dogs.

I always respect the breed standard which was made by the people, and I respect many breeders who make wise decisions about this breed.

But please don't judge me about my mental decisions whether is wise or unwise - as long as I don't brake a law.

After this experiment, I will eventually replace my stud in the future with proper/correct size.

Take care guys!

Edit: yellowrose of Texas
I do realize the flaws that you had point out for me, so far this flaws has NOT being inheritance to off spring pups from my stud - ONLY the size in some pups I discover has being inheritance.

"But please don't judge me about my mental decisions whether is wise or unwise - as long as I don't brake a law."

WTF does law have to do with it?  What you broke was one of the fundamental tenets of German Shepherd breeding, which is "Thou shalt not breed oversized dogs nowhere near the correct size."  In the world of German Shepherd breeding that's as bad as committing adultery, coveting thy neighbor's ass, making graven images, or any of the other big rules that are part of the religion you claim to adhere to but aren't violations of civil law.
