| You would think that some people are buying a car. It will be a puppy, and I really hope he/she is exactly what you want. HA HA Donner, I am even more better bored than you. I read that stupid wah wah wah they took my dog but I am to big a gutless wonder to go and get him back. He was the love of my life, bullshit. I am never being this bored again. : ) |

That is a fairly ridiculous thread as are alot of them. You don't have to be boored just go pick up some crazy chic and put her in the kenel !!, just remember when you want her to leave don't use the It's not you it's me line.... It's always them. I prefer I think we should see other people and ONLY other people!! |

| OP, just line breeding and in breeding dogs are not enough Share the complete 5 generations . I'll give you an example; the dog s you have highlighted all look good but if for example there are some Karthagos or Dollenweise in your lineage of dog I would have my reservations. So be clear don;t try to be secretive show the complete bloodlines cheers |
by DAK44 on 26 August 2011 - 15:59 |
| Vikram: I am certainly not trying to be secretive I am trying to learn here is the male I am considering that linebreeding was out of a mating check I did with a friends w german/ Czech bitch. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=728263&p=5-generation-pedigree |

| the overall structure in the bloodlines is good but as you know I'm not a big fan of czech lines. I just feel it s a waste to take such a strong lineage and mix it with a czech dog. Obviously this was done to improve the progeny of the czech bitch mated. So I rest my case good luck!!!! |

| My dog has a lot of Karthago out of curiosity what is wrong with the Karthago in your opinion? Serious question just want to know why you would have reservations. |
by Gustav on 26 August 2011 - 16:27 |
| Also, this type of linebreeding may be somewhat lacking in good structure....Mink nor Lewis were great dogs structurally. Still, seems to be a good working pedigree. Nothing is wrong with Karthago, you have to be careful of biases when solicting opinions. |

| No need, vodka works just fine. |

| Depending on the sire & dam being used; I would look directly at their parents; the grandparents; and that will bring you more current dogs to look at. Grandparents are very dominant in any breeding sometimes more so than the parents; I would hope for beautiful color though, good hips/elbows and check up on more recent dogs health certifications etc. Very important when thinking about a breeding and research health checks done on any of those background dogs. Otherwise, love the type etc. Looks like these are great working dogs in the background, if you could put it all together; WOW. Best of luck Nan |

I was just wondering sincerely is all, I know that people will not want to mix dogs from A to dogs from B because the resulting pups are too unstable or too crazy and was just wondering while I was looking at the pedigree if that was the reason that Karthago was going to be a problem. Just trying to make more sense of this all and knowledge is gained by asking lol, so I had to ask. |

| I appreciate all of the serious and honest replies. Vikram im new to actually posting on the forum I mostly just read but I would like to know why you arent crazy about the czech lines? I prefer German dogs as well but I do have a fvourite few in the Czech lines. Derrick |
by Vikram on 27 August 2011 - 04:20 |
| karthagos, dollenweise and mohenwiese are history. they are breeding just for the heck of it and selling puppies on their past glories. People in US buy these because they know nothing better. cheers |
