Steve miller of vom haus miller in wisconsin has a son of melano. I would contact him. I believe melano has produced some pretty tough dogs.

If you have somebody who can read German or if you want to use an online translator, here is everything about Melano: http://www.zwinger-vom-cap-arkona.de/596101/40314.html Lots of info on his character and his progeny. I liked Melano a lot and therefore picked one of his sons to breed my Paska-daughter to last year. The breeding was done in Germany, however one of his brothers lives in the U.S. if I am not mistaken. My V-litter had nice conformation and most of these puppies were very social and outgoing. Maybe, some of the owners can chime in if they read that. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=650592&p=siblings Otherwise, I would contact Frank, the breeder of Melano for more information. He seems to really emphasize on the total aspect (working ability paired with the correct conformation s outlined in the standard). When you read his kennel story, he based his whole program on Mr. Hahn of the legendary Busecker Schloss kennel. That is what made Melano interesting for me - his mother with the old lines and the sire Nick who was also an important pilar for Tiekerhook, if I am not mistaken. Chris

Thanks Chris. Unfortunately I cannot translate it at this time, but I do like the fact that he contains the old Busecker lines also. Did you keep a pup from your breeding?

VBravo, Euros, call name Bullet, has good balance in his drives, the ability to cap himself. Very powerful bark and hold. Very fast in the long bite, not afraid to hit center of mass. Very calm tracker. Very high ball drive. He is great around people and not dog aggressive or handler aggressive. I will be putting his Sch I on him in the fall. I hope this helps.Richard

Thanks Richard, it sounds like you have a good dog. Congrats, I wish you good luck in your training and titling endeavors. Personally, I like a dog that will growl back at you if you are unjust to him. I understand Melano and some of his offspring had this Quality about them. Anyone know of any?
