MILLAKILLA, whoever you are, you need help. Seriously. Your first contribution to the comment section was to take my gorgeous, healthy, titled, surveyed, joint- certified bitch's pedigree and F with it, deeming her dysplastic, then you make a comment regarding the same. Then, you proceed to bash Jeff's dog and also Molly's. What is your point? I really don't care what it is, but LEAVE ME AND MY DOGS THE HELL OUT OF IT!!!

I'm sure the mods will take care of this. It is obviously a regular that dislikes all three of you.

I'm sure they will too. What kind of nutjob has time for that? Taking out dogs' accomplishments, changing ratings...weird. Just plain pathetic.

 Jenn,

It has happened before.  Fortunately, the process includes the perpetrator leaving "prints" for the changes.   Childish and stupid.  I am sorry that this happened.

AWESOME DOG. I'm not sure what mk is talking about. This is a proven bitch. Don't know why some people post off the wall remarks. Milla, if you have an axe to grind, take it somewhere else. Beautiful and again "PROVEN" bitch!

I know, Mystere. It's so bizarre though. Who has time for stuff like that?! Gee, why don't I make up a new screen name to go bash perfectly fine dogs of people who have done nothing to me? Sounds fun! NUTCASE.

He/she is gone for now, but you can bet I'll be keeping an eye on my pedigrees. Zmoderator was on this one FAST- thanks!

Thanks for your comment, isachev. Hopefully anyone viewing her comment page will see that ridiculous allegation for what it was, especially if the owner isn't the only one writing nice things about the dog! Much appreciated;-)

I don't know what the right answer is, but leaving comments is one thing; actually being able to go in there and change a dog's titles and hip/elbow ratings is another. Passwords would be too much of a pain because there are so many legitimate reasons for people to add to a dog's pedigree, even if they don't own that particular dog. Oh well.

is there a way to find out if changes have been made to dogs' pedigree pages by this person (mods?) or do I need to go check every single one of my dogs to make sure someone didn't change them?

Thanks but  I just came in on the tail end of it, the moderator who caught it was mrdarcy.

Hi Eichenluft, Only the pedigree of Jenni's dog, Capri was tampered with.  When something like this happens, clicking on the culprits name will bring up a list which will show any dog(s) who pedigrees were tampered with.

I will ask Oli to check for changes this person might have made to other pedigrees.

This person is the flooder and a known problem.

I have also deleted his comment.

Regards,
GSD

Then thanks to Mr. Darcy, and GSD as well!

This seems pretty random. I have no idea who this person is at all. Not a single clue.

Wow!  Why are other people allowed to change a pedigree?  Shouldn't the ability to change a pedigree only be available to the dog's owner?  Glad you caught it Jenni78!

We can narrow it down a little,

I think it is  probably  a woman.

It is unlike us guys to do such things and in that manner

Troublelinx, lol. I have already had someone change her ped. data when I first imported her. You know who it was? A very sad little man with no life.

gsdturner, the problem with that is it would prevent anyone but the owner from adding dogs that are missing from their dog's pedigree. These dogs (grandparents, etc.) may be deceased, or their owners deceased. People wanting to research pedigrees need to have as much information as possible. That's the whole purpose of having a database.

You can discover who has made the changes by clicking on the "History of Changes" button in the pedigree.

changes should be able to be made by other than the owner - I make changes to dogs I bred, when they earn titles etc - not all owners are on this database.  And, sometimes there are obvious titles or ratings left out of older known dogs - updated pictures and etc are nice to have and as I said, not all owners are on this database.  Great to have moderators on the ball though in case of the mentally unstable and immature folks who like to bash and trash dogs because of personal jealousy..

I agree w/SS and Molly. As much as this infuriated me this morning, I add dogs all the time when filling in pedigrees, update ratings on German dogs if no one has updated their rating from the youth class, etc. I also update pics and info on dogs I bred. Locking them isn't the answer. I think logging and just remembering to check up on them once in a while is the best we can do.
