:) Bringing home my new pup this Friday and I was just curious on everyone's different opinions and experiences about introducing a puppy to the house. How do you bring him in, when and how do you introduce to your other dogs if they live together. All as a general open ended question...ANYTHING is appreciated...

Why types of games do you play? How often do you play tug? (sorry beating the dead horse)

So far, he will sleep in kennel at night, and he'll usually spend his days with me, even at work so I have a lot of time to spend with him. I've got a flirt pole, small tugs for later and a Nina Ottoson Puzzle, and ordering some more stuff soon. :) We'll be going to our Sch club at least once a week, most likely twice. I know I'll likely get lots of suggestions at the club but just too excited right now. :)

Congratulations Kelli, I know you're excited! I think a big thing is NO free run of the house. I have a crate with a 36 tall play kennel around the crate so that when I can't watch my pup he goes in there. When we are in the house I keep a slip lead on him so he can't slip off and lofty somewhere. I took a tug toy and nylon rope and tied the tug toy so it hangs down plus I put a brain teaser toy a a teething toy in with him and I switch up they toys with other ones so he doesn't get bored. I'm able to be with him most of the day so we do lots of little walks and lots of toy playing. It's been a long time since I had an 8 week old puppy (he's 10 weeks now) and I had forgotten how much the keep you on your toes. Lots of playing and mental stimulation makes it much easier. I also try and leave him for varying periods of time in his crate alone so he gets used to that as well. Good luck, I'm sure others will add some good tips. Jennifer
