Do you have a dog yourself? Maybe if you titled your own dog, your credentials would be more appealing?

Joe...i hope you know it would help if you listed your location, your experience even with a few dogs that you stated you trained, what you had done and what you are good at, video, photos that always helps...also if and when you get contacted anyone who is serious would ask you for references or even letters of recommendation...you know the basic stuff....
you are asking people to trust you with their dogs...no different than asking if you can use someones loaded weapon...depending on how serious you are and committed you may want to at least invest in some basic marketing.....it  would have helped to observe especially this forum before posting...just an opinion Joe...look before you leap...

Some ideas....

1) Train and title your own dogs
2) See about being an apprentice under another trainer who titles and trains dogs
3) Gather written references from the people you are currently training

Is this is it?

Joe, I hope people here don't tear you down too harshly because you're obviously into dog training, and that's great. You aren't ready to title dogs for other people. To even do decoy work for others when you are not trained is unfair to the owners you're working with, and detrimental to their dogs.

There are many excellent trainers in WI/IL that you can work with to become better. Title your own dog, as many times over as you can. Then title your next one. Then your next one. Go to seminars! Flinks will be in WI in May. What part of WI are you from? There are SchH clubs all over the midwest.

No one serious about having their dog titled is going to give you, or anyone else in your position, their dog as a guinea pig. You have to get out there and prove yourself first. Best of luck to you.

really really nice looking dog. seems like the dogs attention spam is kinda low?
how old is your dog?

and just looking at the video, does he have problems with people being behind him?
maybe unsure?
what lines?

i know your trying to get another dog to train from someone else
but i would never ship or leave me dog at a another person house to get trained.
either im there, watching and learning or nothing else.

my dog comes to work with me, comes to canadian tire with me, care rides you make it hes there.
you gottta understand for MOST people they get a dog to be part of the family.

would you ship your kid across the country to get potty trained?

just my 2 cents.

i agress get your own dog titled, go to show him off, and people will come to you.
i own my own company, all my clinets are threw word of mouth.
show everyone what you can do, and then your phone will be ringing off the hook.

cheers

WTF is this guy serious? I am not a negative person but if I were this guy I would delete the YouTube video promptly. A fly swatter? WTF!! I have been doing Schutzhund for a little over two years I have Titled a Malinois to a SchH III and am a decoy in my club under a very well respected trainer who has competed at the BSP. All of this and I know it isn't much at all, and I wouldn't even think about asking to train and title someone elses dog.

Sure, I agree sable59, but he's got to be real, too!  Meaning realistic in his expectations of himself---what is he actually offering to any prospective client? That they want? No one in their right mind is going to give him a well bred dog to do what he will without proof of what he can do. Wishes and desires are great, asking advice is great. Then reality sets in.

I am by no means an expert but I am trying.  Part of being taken seriously is being able to convey an image that you are all you advertise.  Often the first contact you'll have will be email or on a board like this.  You're not going to get far posting 141 word sentences that require reading multiple times just to sort through the grammatical and spelling errors.

Slow down, take the positive advice that members above have posted, and keep trying.  If you have the talent, PATIENCE, and drive, you will get to where you want to go.

Good luck.

Freddy!!!! Hilarious did you actually count all the words?

I am sorry if I came off wrong but it seemed to me that this guy thought that he deserved to train and title someone's dog. Now he is saying that he sold that particular dog for $7000, yet still wants to train someones dog for the cost of food only? Come on now! I was not trying to be negative I am just a blunt and realistic person, sorry if any of you were offended.

I revert back to his original post when I say that you can't ask for gold when you can't even afford aluminum.

He needs way more than advice, he needs alot of help, and a forum is a great way to learn a few things but it is no replacement for real life. Furthermore contrary to what some video's say you can't become a dog trainer from watching Youtube and then making a video of your own.

I'm confused ... this is Zoro, right?

So, isn't this the one and the same dog being advertised for $3,500 as of March 13th?

http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/classifieds/117911.html

or does the OP own two dark sable males name Zoro?

Bitetonight - I think you have potential and, most certainly, passion. I hope you succeed and can find a good mentor/trainer to help you get there. Best of luck.
