I THINK those are Judy's puppies. Janice had no babies at her place.

S- those must be Judy's puppies, as an ad was placed today, and obviously Janice didn't place that one, lol. While it's easy to place blame and 'guilt by association' we have to remember how cunning Janice can be and how someone naive could be pulled into her web and fooled into believing her. I think Judy should be able to get her dogs back if they have nothing against her in terms of care. While I would never be that trusting as to send my dog to someone, I am of a totally different personality type.

www.dailybreeze.com/news/ci_17547484 This article has two photos showing two of the dogs that were seized. This whole thing makes me nauseous. VomMarischal, I applaud you and Don for doing what was in your power to try and help both the elderly woman and the dogs, knowing that you were limited and would probably have to battle just to get anyone with some authority in the matter to listen to you. I wish that there was some way to prevent this delusionally-evil woman from ever having the life of ANYTHING in her hands again.... And whoever said they wished the Bartmess' pictures weren't shown because they had crazy eyes, I co-sign that, at least as far as Janice Bartmess goes--she's got Charlie Manson eyes all the way. But Greg Bartmess actually looks like a pleasant, normal person...I don't see the crazy in his eyes, but maybe that makes his part in this even worse, if he's entirely *sane* and could participate in this cruelty to humans and animals alike.

I understand what you are saying Jenn and would applaud someone for giving someone the benefit of the doubt or a second chance if they were the one taking the risk. But they weren't, the dogs were/are. Kinda like if you want to give a convicted raptist a second chance you (generic you) go out with him. Don't set him up with your best friend. No matter who smooth of a talker he is.

Hexe, remember how she blamed her husband for all of it, saying he had some mental problem and wasn't "all there" or something like that? I see a smirk almost on his face...I wonder if the man is actually glad she got caught. Anyone know anyone in animal control or gov't that could pull a favor and maybe get those dogs out of rescue and maybe back where they belong? Many are not going to have good "pet" temperaments.

No, Betty, you don't understand. Lucky you. You don't know Janice that well.

Jenn, I imagine those dogs are going to fall into the legal quicksand of 'evidence' which means they won't be going anywhere. ![]() At least not for awhile.

Sorry I agree with Betty! All Judy did was enable an animal abuser! Way too much info on web about Janice Sure hope Judy is more careful with protecting her children or grandchildren Thank God someone cared enough about the Mother to even call for a welfare check!

Oh, Mylanta. Nevermind. Missed my whole point.

If they are not able to locate the legal owners of these poor dogs what will happen to them?? I could take one or two into rescue if needed.
by VomMarischal on 08 March 2011 - 23:02 |
I'm going to try to find out which rescue, if any, gets these dogs. I have contacted LA County AC again.

I could take a few, but they'd have to be shipped. I think she may have bred some from dogs she had semen from. I know she has a few of Arizona Black's dogs though. I am combing through my old emails to see who else's dog she may have.

I get your point..... But I find it weird that on page 1 you say... "I can't wait for those who said we were persecuting her needlessly to see this. " So trying to understand what you are saying... It's not ok to say I think this person might have changed/did not do it and people are attacking her for no good reason but it's ok To think she's changed/did not do it and give her dogs???????? This topic really should have been posted on the general forum IMO Isn't that where most of the talks about her took place? Don't understand the courts! If you abuse once you should not be allowed to own again!!!!!

The important thing is the dogs now. Her mother is in good hands, she is in jail (at least for now?). Its all about the dogs. She mustn't get them back and they must be placed in working-dog-knowledgeable, competent, caring hands for rehab and re-homing ASAP.
by Betty on 08 March 2011 - 23:22 |
Does anyone know if the dogs are even available or are they going to be held as evidence? Is there anyone in the area there that would be willing to work as a contact person, maybe a clearing house for people that think it may be one of their dogs? And that can contact the shelter things like that?
by VomMarischal on 08 March 2011 - 23:26 |
They will be held as evidence for awhile, I assume.
by Jenni78 on 08 March 2011 - 23:48 |
It's all being worked on, has been all day long, since I heard about it at 7am. And others who I won't name (they can if they want to) are "on it" as well, gathering and organizing info, evidence, etc. I have to say the cops in this seem quite nice and caring.
