Let me put it this way. The Leerburg female I had was purchased by a gentleman from Leerburg as a pup. When the dog was about a year old he gave her to me free of charge.

Jeff, did you really miss that thread back when all that crap was going on w/him and von Forell (I think it was von Forell)? It was Natan semen if I remember right. OMG. Priceless quotes can be taken from it- talk about hilarity when taken out of context. You of all people would have loved it.

I lost interest in that forum a long time ago. I missed all that, although I would have been booted for sure. No way I could have read that and not ripped the shit out of him for that. It has been at least 6 years I am sure.

I remember him saying that mondio would never go anywhere.

I haven't been on there for a while...couple years almost and the last several I only posted occasionally. This had to be 5 years ago, I thought, maybe more. Could be wrong but it's old old old. And FUNNY. I couldn't believe my eyes.

I boycotted the site after I about gagged when I read his "article" on Pit Bulls (basically trying to skew stats to scare Pit owners into buying some DVDs) and was totally disgusted. I can't find his credentials anywhere I look. It's great to have an opinion (God knows I don't hold back) but when you are capitalizing on selling your uneducated opinion as fact..................

Ed.........To me was one of the first to use the Internet...I believe he
was a retired police officer. He had a outpost for the working dog wilderness
called the USA...To his credit he saw value in the Netherlands trials but
it seems strange that people were giving the finger in his video. Dutch are
generally very friendly....

He gave alot of exposure over here to people not familiar with dog sports.
Even today most people in the USA don't know what a Malinois is.
For Ed it was more product, qty, price  and checkout. Than trying to be
the heart and soul of the working dog community. And this was a big turn off
to the serious dog trainers who felt that should be second or third on his list.

But to his credit he gave information and resources that were not available much
when he started. If you had to buy your bite suit from Germany and you shoes
from Australia ( down under)to do decoy work for a living you probably by passed Ed's store.

Shoes from Australia were very popular in Europe. They were made from kangaroo hide.
If you played football you my have bought some football cleats from there
Ed does not have them...It's funny to buy a french ring bite suit from
Germany, but they make the best IMO...Custom....now I ware any thing, it does not matter
much...I don't do trials any more and very little club work.....I need to start jogging again,
I would feel much better....

Ed never got Patrice to do a video for french ring. I wish he had.
Patrice was the best Fr Ring Decoy in my opinion. The Fr Ring
people should have him over here to do decoy clinics.
Wine, women, and tobacco, is the curse of french men in their old age.

The great  PATRICE FOUCAULT...

To date the only thing still remember about Ed, was he said
something about Fero that upset alot of people in Europe.
And I know Fero was in Koos's kennel for stud for a short time,
and Koos had somethings to say about Fero. But Fero's progeny
are still legendary and that can not be disputed.(Max)

I think from the Peko Haus Kennels, Karlo was outstanding and
Pike I think was even better.(MAX)

This what Ed said....
.".He also has 1/2 of the same breeding as Askie v. Froschgraben . Askie is Troll vd Bosen Nachbarshafts mother. The fact is that Rambo got the better half of Trolls pedigree. He did not get the half that has the Fero blood. I have written a short article on my web site about why I am not a fan of Ferro".

LOL. The infamous "the fact is."

When I bash dogs I don't know, I take care to spell their names wrong, too. It adds to my credibility.

I've had my problems with Ed too, but he redeemed himself fully when he did this.

He's not a bad guy, no doubt. Actually, I kind of like him and think he can be pretty amusing. But when you put yourself out there so publicly all the time, there is just bound to be some funny stuff....like that semen thread. That will go down in history as the funniest thing ever posted online.

That vid on Ft. Bragg was probably the most useful video he ever produced.

No, I don't. It was about Natan and it was several years ago. I just remember seeing the words "I want my semen back!" in big, italic letters and have never laughed so hard at a dog forum.

Jenni, this is by no means directed at you, or any one person......
What you said is the truth....It also applies to anyone who tries to "sell" their knowledge as the gospel" and has no proof of actual experience of what they are trying to make people believe they know.....

JMO....

Well, opinions are one thing...it's just when people state their opinions by prefacing them with "the fact is..." people tend to take exception.

Ed's not a bad guy by a long stretch, but due to his website side/breadth, people often assume things that are not necessarily true.

I personally have nothing bad to say about Ed....I have on more than one occasion asked for his knowledge concerning different dogs in pedigrees from his breedings......He has always been up front and honest and told me both good and bad concerning the dogs I was inquiring about.....

I have never had to ask about training opinions..... What good would a trainer do, if I would ask advice of someone else other than the one working with us with our dogs.......So therefore all experiences and encounters with Ed have all been related to pedigree issues.....

just seemed like so many people on his forums (thousands) treated him like god specially his mods that claim to have decades of dog experience.
