There are Personal Protection Trainers/ Breeders all over Canada. Do some research you will find lots of great dogs. That imaginary line between Canada and the States doesnt stop good dogs from coming and going both ways. Lots of Breeders in Canada have Imports too.

I really think people need to look for the right DOG, then worry about finding a way to get it to them. If you just want a pet, then fine. Go to a local person/breeder/shelter. But if you're looking for something specific, get the right one, not the close one. I have NEVER bought a local dog. It'd be like winning the lottery to find what I want and get so lucky as to have it remotely close by.

I knew a girl that lived in Montreal, met her in Mexico, she wasn't bad.

look for a breeder you can trust and has an open door policy. then pick what you want or think you want. if you are inexperienced ask the breeder for help.

I've no personal experience with this breeder, but have heard excellent things from working-line people whose judgement and knowledge I highly value: carmspack.com/index.htm Lots of successful police dogs coming from this kennel.

Check out Vom Kiebitzende kennels. Raino Fluegge is the breeder and also a judge for Schutzhund. I see he has some very nice dogs. Good luck!

Also Wendelin farms, She owns Navar and good bred females from Gero line. Mountain Lakes Kennels in Virginia, and CanCzech in BC all have top of the line dogs for protection. Hank

Another vote for Canczech. These dogs are raised and trained to be the what I consider true tactical dogs, not simply sport dogs. |

usually, I stay away from this type of question but someone mentioned a breeder whom I KNOW sells excellent German Shepherds.....Carmspack...aka Carmen Duggan is an EXCELLENT breeder. Her dogs are employed in RCMP. She is no nonsense and knows what she is talking about. She has been breeding for quite some time....successfully!!!!

I reread op and would say this if you are going to be purchasing a " Personal Protection" dog you are not going to find one anywhere ready and finished. I wouldn't also be looking for a breeder in a specific location, unless you want just generic trained protection dog. Who ever you choose, be ready to spend time laying out the specifications you require. You will also have to be involved in the training, As I say every time this subject comes up, "Personal" protection dogs are not a on shelf item. They are dogs trained to protect you from harm, not just there to help you when you are being harmed. A lot of good breeders have the raw product, but very few have the ability to supply you with this finished product. Hank
