What a wonderful Christmas present Robin.....kinda puts everything else into perspective. Thank God they were OK!

I got to work last night, & I am thankful to be employed, & we had extra help for our shift , so we all got home on time, that was really nice! And I had my hubby's arms to come home to, & 4 wagging tails! And, Santa Paws even left some chewie toys in my locker at work for the gang, they are loved by all!

Got to talk to my son who lives in Portland Oregon on my break, & got to see my daughter & her family yesterday morning before work, the kids had a good Christmas. Even chatted with my Mom, & she sounded like herself, very bittersweet. When the family's OK, all's well with the world.

Hope everyone else's Christmas was pleasant! jackie harris

Quote: We are very thankful that my oldest son & daughter in law, walked away from a car accident (car totalled) on Christmas Eve night. Biggest miracle....the accident happened before picking up their children (age 4 & 6)..on their way to our home for Christmas Dinner.

That is the best and luckiest present. Makes my flashlight PALE (get it? ) in comparison. My neighbor got to come home from the hospital for Christmas, he had open heart surgery, and the surgery didn't work right so he had to have another surgery almost right away.

I still really like my flashlight, but having family get lucky enough to survive a horrible accident is much better. MUCH better.

Thanks Jeff...I appreciate it very much. We are very thankful...that is for sure!
As for your flashlight.....my husband is dying to get his hands on something like that. LOL!
Every time we are in any home improvement store , or Bass Pro Shop...he immediately finds "toys"...that he thinks we "need".......must be a "guy" thing.?!
Merry Christmas! & Shine on!

I think it is a guy thing for sure. For me, ever since star wars, I have wanted a light saber. I have a video favorited on how they made lightsaber for the movie, and some day will get all the stuff together, and get one of my friends to build it for me.

Lennard - super clear videos!
We haven't figured how to connect it to our TV yet. Learning about all the bells and whistles is fun.

crhuerta - Thank God!

Just said good buy to Ken's family - wonderful kids and grand kids too - having the hole family over is always a gift. Kids, grand kids, our dogs and their dogs all got along famously.

Found out that my youngest son is a candidate for Annapolis Naval Academy - my biggest present ever!

Thanks so much Kelly for all the info!  Very nice of you, and much appreciated, thank you!

Robin, I'm so glad everyone is all right, and thankful the children were not in the car, what a blessing!

Jeff, I'll have to look into this high powered flashlight of yours!

Okay, and as for what I got for Christmas?
Weelll last year I got a snowmobile and a new computer.  This year Santa brought me a roasting pan and pajama's.

Yup it's true.
I  guess I wasn't a good girl.

Red Sable...NOW THATS FUNNY!
BTW......my youngest son informed us that he & his fiance are "expecting"..!!!
He didn't want to tell us with what happened on Christmas Eve...(because he didn't know how I'd react)...
The baby should be born around May...and it's a boy!!
Robin

P.S....with the thought of 2am feedings?.(again)...I think ...I'd rather have the roasting pan & pajamas!! LOL! (just kidding!)

Robin, that must have been so scary for you, but they clearly had a Christmas angel watching over them! Congratulations to your youngest!

The best gift I could have ever received was spending Christmas with my Fiance who was deployed to Iraq last year. My sister got engaged and my whole family was up from FL. The best Christmas ever!

Material items: I got my new tracking harness and K9 decals :)

Shared the holiday with my mom visiting for a few days.  She's 91 and amazing... usually hard to buy for as there's little that she longs for, but this year we scored a perfect hit!  Got her a bird feeder that fits into a window and allows birds to actually be in the house.  As she is legally blind, and a lifelong birder she's excited about being able to be close enough to see them, an additional bonus is that she won't have to hike outdoors to fill the feeder.  I'm hoping for many more Christmas' with Mom and the rest of the family.

Well, I bought him back in October but he's definitely my Christmas present just like she was my Birthday present back in March. I hope I am not turning this into an awefully bad habit of justifying buying dogs by making them my presents.

My non GSD sister got me The Book of the German Shepherd by Anna K. Nicholas... though it's  somewhat dated, these were the dogs that I showed against, and the pedigrees that I knew in American lines.  The book's worth it for the pictures alone.  Dogs like
1963 US GV Condor Von Stoerstrudel (www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/pedigree/403820.html) and
1957 US GV Troll Vom Richterbach(www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/pedigree/2530.html )who would still be striking today

first, i'm glad that you're family is ok, robin. what a terrifying experience.
i got a new camera, a nikon coolpix p100. it's gonna take me forever to get it figured out (i know, there are much more impressive cameras out there, but this is a big step up for me & it's tough enough), a couple of gift cards to a day spa (comes in handy during the year; my best friend & i get massages and take in the sauna and the hot tub, then lunch), a very cool large crystal piece from my son and a beautiful custom embroidered and blinged baseball cap. can't wait to wear it! and a smallish box of godiva truffles (pure bliss). christmas day was at my sister's house and the day after, my husbands kids, grandkids and great grandkidlets all came over. had a blast. the dogs love to have company and angus loves to get bossed around by the 2nd littlest girl (4 yrs) and to give big wet kisses to the new baby (9 mos). tamales & champagne and two new engagements announced. tough year for some, but everyone was happy, healthy and determined to enjoy each other. amen to that.
