RIP poor Brooke by Krazy Bout K9s on 10 August 2010 - 14:44 |
This sweet dog came to me 1 1/2 weeks ago...at only 10 yrs old. She was a real pleasure to have around even for that short of a time. When I picked her up, I knew she was sick, brought her in for x-rays, then ultrasound, result::: Hemangiosarcoma, spleen and liver with bleeding into abdomen and chest cavity...poor baby, her owners dumped her at the shelter...a couple months ago when they moved to Alaska, took their Poms with them....kind-hearted manager of the shelter took her home and recently passed her on to me, not knowing there was something wrong, I noticed fluid in her belly immediately... Today I have to put her to sleep, she can no longer get up, and she looks so tired...tough day today.... Steph Montana GSD Rescue 6-8-00 to 8-10-10

I'm sorry, Steph...I'm glad she's had the pleasure of the past week or so on the ranch, and your attentions and affection, and that she'll have your arms around her while you reassure her and give her messages to take with her as she goes.

RIP Brooke. And that loyal face will be waiting for her people at the bridge, even though they are undeserving of such love.

Poor Baby. Thank God she has you to ease her out of her pain, and will know she is in loving, caring hands when she heads for the bridge. I'll be thinking of you both today.

Thanks all, it is hard even only knowing her such a short time, she was just such a sweet natured girl...she went peacefully and is in no more pain.....I think sometimes I love these dogs too much, wonder why I don't cry when a human dies....the shits!!! The owners had purchased her to breed her, then she had 2 accidental litters before she was 3 yrs old....thank God they got her fixed after that... Thanks again,Steph
