| He's hanging in there!. The vet checked him out yesterday and said he looks OK, heartbeat and lungs sound good, no discernible problems, he's just a little fellow. He weighed in after 24 hours at a meager 291 grams, but he's been feeding just fine with a little help keeping the others out of his way, so we'll see how his weight comes in today. Here he is just a few minutes ago getting a little alone time at the cafeteria... ![]() |

What a cutie...I like Mom keeping that close eye on him. We have something in common, I'm a runt too! |

| Capri had one giant pup (2, really, but one was HUGE) and 6 normal ones and one tiny one; I really think it had to do w/the way they were inside the horns. There were clearly 2 on the xray in one horn, then a whole slew of them in the other horn. The first two were huge, the rest were all normal, and the one little one was, well, little. Healthy but small. Never needed any special attention and is right smack in the middle, size-wise, currently (9mos). The little guy might be just fine! Hope so. |

| Well I'm sorry to say that the little guy didn't make it through last night. We're all very sad to see him go. On a positive note, the other 3 males & female are doing great, having gained an average of 75 grams in a day. The tubby little guy 2nd from the left actually came up 95 whole grams in 24 hours, so he's clearly got the nursing thing down! |

| Your female looks really content in that picture. Sorry on the loss of the little guy. Heather |

Aw, what a shame! I thought he was doing well and had high hopes for the little one. I'm really sorry, RIP little runt.![]() I do have one tiny question and please, don't take it the wrong way, no flaming intended...all of the pics posted since birth, they are on a hard surface. Is there a reason you have no bedding provided, or some other soft surface? You may well have reasons so, like I said, not to start a bashing, just a question. |

No worries, I actually do have a sheepskin type cover on the 2'x2' heating pad (it's visible in the first picture of the 2 newborn pups), I just take it out for cleaning regularly so it was coincidence that it's not pictured when these photos were taken. They do like lying on it, and since it straps securely to the pad they can't get underneath it. I'm really cautious about not having anything they can get tangled up in, or something they could squirm underneath and accidentally get crushed by the dam. They're plenty comfortable, and thanks for inquiring! |

| Sorry to hear about the little guy. I was pulling for him. Looks like everyone else is doing great. Congrats! |

| Poor little tyke...well, it seems like that happens in so many litters...it did in my last one. Nature is a cruel one, but hopefully for a reason. Everybody else looks like a million bucks! |

Thank you for answering without getting mad. So many times a question is asked here and it just stirs up garbage. Nice to have an intelligent answer and no screaming! My condolences on the little one but I'm glad the rest are doing will and fattening up. |

| Just thought I'd post updated photos of Carmen's litter, they're at day 16 today and getting very mobile! First are the 3 males...Arthur, Aslan & Aragorn vom Haus Adams - and finally our lone little girl, Arya. ![]() |

| The puppies look beautiful, and I had to smile at your choice of names, we also had Aslan and Aragorn on our first A litter, as well as Arwen (who we kept and is still with us). |

| 3 Weeks old now, and full of teeth! They're getting very energetic and active, and starting to put those new teeth to good use. Carmen's big ears make a great chew target apparently! Here's the little girl Arya, followed by Arthur: |

| And here's Aslan & Aragorn (Have to agree Oso, I loved the idea of "King" names for the boys!): |
