Can I get an update on the thread about the brother sister breeding from a year or more back ?? by Jeff Oehlsen on 02 March 2010 - 01:47 |
This was the thread that everyone was making fun of the person, and then she came on here and everyone shut up.

I would have remembered if it had been Arolser Holz lines....my boy is a 'Gabi' offspring.....but I remember the thread, it was an 'oops' litter, but the OP was not apologetic...& was doing right by the dogs...I kind of remember thinking that the OP had quite a set, & they were not backing down or letting folks rattle them. I wound up admiring them for the way they stood by their dogs, no matter what. And it sparked a debate on incest breeding vs tight line-breeding...very informative. jackie harris

I remembered the thread but unfortunately I cannot be much more help. The OP did provide a link to the pedigree of that single pup with beautiful large ears ;) It would certainly be interesting to see how the pup has progressed. Could that be back in 2008?

Are you referencing the pup Kim Gash owned? You can contact Kim directly.

Mary, I just remember the thread going downhill with hillbilly jokes and what not, though the pic on the pedigree was a young pup. I was wondering what happened to that pup, and how it turned out. I found that inbreeding and tight linebreeding according to the experts here produced one eyed dogs and what not. LOL The pup looked fine to me, I was hoping that I could find that thread and see if the person that had him did anything with him. My research skills on forums is way below par. : )

Mine must be way too high. Try the Manus Tiekerhook half-sib breeding, a 2-2 on Nick. I personally emailed her myself, but go no response.

The funniest part of that thread was the shit showline breeder bashing on Jeff and Acci's owner, LOL

Sorry - did not see this thread - Jeff emailed me on my regular email last night. Acci is a very nice dog - basically a clone of his parents. Year and a half now. Nice structure, nice drives - nothing extreme, but both parents are the same way. Very, very stable temperament dog very intelligent. I have done no real training, just basic obed. Very smart and appears very healthy. I was very fortunate that the breeder on these parents, Arolser Holz has healthy dogs and has been careful in what he has bred. Obviously both parents were free of any horrible genetic problems, nothing hidden. Both parents are extremely healthy dogs and are now 4 1/2. No point in getting in to a rehash of all that was posted before, but I lucked out due to the breeder having bred solid dogs for many, many years. Had it been other bloodlines, it really could have been disastrous for the pup. Of all things, I have bought sheep in the thought of doing herding. He has natural apptitude for the sheep already and I may very well use him for herding - its a big project because of the number of sheep you need for course C and then especially HGH, but it appears the genetics are there are him and his parents for this, just very level headed dogs, and very biddable at a distance, authoritative and stern with the sheep. Oh, and he grew into his ears :) If I can get someone here to take a photo of him stacked, I will post the photo so you can see he has not grown any more eyes, legs etc. :)
