So glad to hear he arrived safely, Congratulations! It may take a while for him to get used to his crate, make sure you keep it in a quiet place. They are not used to being alone and I'm sure he'll be fine in no time. Always make the crate a pleasant experience, treat him when putting him in and praise him. If he whines, ignore it, never scold him for it, just walk away. Don't leave him in there for long stretches, take him out and play with him often, making sure you take him outside first. He'll catch on soon enough. I've never had an ear bent backwards so maybe someone else could address that issue. Love him, guide him, train him, enjoy him. They grow up so fast!

My Pups live out doors from 8 weeks old you can try winding up the tick tock of a Clock wrap it in a piece of cloth and put it under the blanket or whatever you use in his crate It will cuddle up to the sound of the TICK TOCk it sounds like his mother and litter mates heart beat he will then settle down okay done this for 60 years every time i had a Puppy and with Izzy Bitch she was perfect after a the first night it was in with her Good to here he arrived safe and you are pleased with him Steve1

Ahem! Pictures? Don't worry about the ear tipping backwards. It will straighten up...it may even fall forward. You may have a lot of different levels of tipping ears before they are up for good. Sounds like things are going well. Good to hear it.

Congratulations! Glad he got there safe and sound! I agree with GSDTravels on the crate training. He should adapt pretty quickly. My male was awful when I got him. Screamed and cried for about two weeks no matter what I did. Eventually he got accustomed to it. Then my second female LOVED her crate! I would leave the kennel door open so she could go in and our as she pleased, she never complained when I shut her in. She is two and still loves her crate. She has one inside and outside and goes in them by herself. I went last night to put her to bed and she was already in there :-) My new female however, was like my male and at 5 months she still screams for a minute when I put her in there so I usually just give her a chicken back and it keeps her quiet for the rest of the night. Looking forward to seeing pictures of him. What did you name him? Did I miss that? Stacy

We love pictures! Where are they? ;-) Make sure he is getting enough out of crate time to romp around and get tired. |

I learned today he is exactly 2 months and not 1.5 as it stated on the passport due to customs. He still has loose stools but eats and drinks very well. The whole family is very greatful to Mr. Dirk Wortmann of Osterberger Land for such a great puppy. If anyone ever wants to buy a dog, I would 100% recommend contacting him to buy a puppy. Just pm me and I will give you guys more info on him, and also I will give you a full review of the puppy after I take him to the vet and also when I get hip and elbow x-rays. For now I am just enjoying every moment with him!

On the passport his name is Cai Vom Osterberger Land, so we renamed him to an english kai. When he wakes up in the morning he's like a locomotive just not stop activity. Then later on in the day, he calms down and is just relaxing. At the moment I'm switching him over to a Raw diet so I'm doing Ground raw beef and just a handful of dry food and then on monday when I purchase k-9 kravings I will be doing 100% raw. He's just loves the raw meat, he really seems to enjoy the ground beef and it seems to be giving him even more energy.
