| I was not going to make a comment here but feel i have to. I am very surprised at several comments here, very surprised indeed!! Firstly this topic should NOT even be on this side of the board as it is not specific to the GSD but dogs in general. Secondly a question.... does anyone here actually read the comments made? How can anyone say, going by the title of this thread, that it is not about religion/faith? Of course it is, the minute the word Muslim was mentioned it became about that religion, and in my opinion is asking for trouble on this board. I think as the boy Hamza is a Muslim there are far better sources for an answer to his question. IBRAHIM one has to discuss this specific religion as the OP has asked a question concerning a specific religion. Hamza your comment about " they should be destroyed" does absolutely nothing for your credibility, but then again i have read most of your comments and that comment does not surprise me. If i had said this, what would you think?? GSDRULE......... no comment, not worth it!!!! |

| I am posting for the first time here and must say that this has been a very interesting thread. In terms of Muslim custom, culturally defined religious practices among most of society ( I never heard it described like that before, thanks!) and of course the amazing diversity of opinions amongst the GSD community. Thanks for keeping this freedom of expression going! |

Aside from the ridiculousness, really interesting thread, I am very interested in all world religions and faiths, and seeing how they can potentially affect a dog owner/breeder was really fascinating and I think certainly relevant. I hope with your new business you are finding time to work with him too. Overall this was a very informative topic. A couple rants and raves and a couple comments that could have been done without. GSDRULES comments in general and also the OP's comment "they should be destroyed". |

Was not the quran revelation from the muslum god to Muhammed! and the Hadith simply thoughts Muhammed expounded upon with out divine revelation? And strange that the nice posters here are far less friendly concerning christian posts in their responses. ans since as a generality the islamic faith considers dogs an unclean animal and not fit for training or companionship IT DOES HAVE CREDIBILITY AS A QUESTION ON THIS BOARD! Muslums have been raising dogs for centuries as guard and hunting dogs! I can find no prohibition for breeding in the quran ! |

| In the islamic faith there are two books and even a third form of influence and even in two camps of religous thought! ! ( Quran)#1 the belief that these writings are divinely inspired statements from Micheal to Muhammed from God! ( Hadith) #2 the day to day uninspired teachings or religous interpetations of Muhammed concerning those events not specifically inspired ! Then the two camps or third form of influence! the shite and sunni divisions of islam! Only the Quran can divinely instruct and Ican find no prohibitions against breeding dogs! |

| I guess my point is that one should be able to make a decision upon a problem as you brought up upon what the Quran has told you! Since the Hadith is not inspired scripture as the Quran is but day to day teachings of Muhammed! And I truely mean no insults at all if any one should imply! Kinda like the hebrew scriptures takes precedent over a specific sermon a priest would make!I doubt that Muhammed encountered breeders of gsd that we have contact with today. Could we equate the breeding of arabian horses in his day and ask if one should collect a stud fee for the services of his outstanding stud! Imn muhammeds day dog breeding was way different than now! |
