I am looking for a GSD for a client who recently lost her older dog. Adult dog preferred, with no aggression issues toward people. Willing to pay if it is a nice dog-- color or conformation not important, but temperament is.  Nice if it has some basic manners, but training will be provided. Its a good home with a large yard, kennel and dog will get walks and play and have house time. Male or female.  Must be good with children.

Have you checked with  the GSD resuce groups in your area or www.petfinder.com ? Westside GSD Rescue has a lot of very nice dogs- they are in LA. http://www.sheprescue.org/index.html    There are a lot of nice GSDs in rescue groups and shelters that need homes.

Too bad it has to be in CA. Molly Graf has three very nice dogs available from rescue, 2-4 yrs old, all trained, housebroken, good with kids, the works. they are all 100% German show lines, very pretty black and red.

If she is willing to pay, have Molly fly one out to her. I am sure the GSD rescue here in Ca are full and you would be able to find what you are looking for close to home. I know the shelters ar full, and you could lighten thier load.

I have a club member with a 10 month old female she is trying to place. Long story but a very sweet, but very, very shy female. I had her at my house for a week. I don't think she had been off the "owners" property. She was raised with children and likes them quite a bit. Shows a little nervous aggression around other dogs in new environments, but nothing that would be a problem with proper training. She has a small chunk out of one ear which leads me to believe another dog beat her up once. Socialization would be necessary and solve much of her small issues.

Like I said a very, very sweetheart of a dog just scared of alot of stuff. Never showed an ounce of aggression to any human while I had her.

I would be willing to let your client come to our club for Ob lessons free of charge if she wished. I am located and train in Sacramento.

Thanks all. I would be interested in looking at the one year old coming into rescue in in Sac. Unfortunately shy and nervous/ aggressive  won't work, but the older dog might. I have checked out all the rescue dogs I  could find locally. None are suitable. They want a dog with very nice temperament and no major baggage or issues. I like Molly's dogs very much , but shipping one from out of state makes no sense. Have you shipped a GSD lately?? Geez, they want $700 now because they say a 500 crate won't do for even a medium sized GSD. Must have a 700 crate!, and besides, there is bound to be a suitable dog within driving distance.
Soo, if you could provide me with some particulars re the older dog and the one year old I'd be happy to look at them

My 8yr old has no vices, smart, very compliant, very handler soft, would never bite anybody. Good with kids, if they bother her, she will just get up and move away. Loves to play ball, swim, ride in the car/truck, run next to a bike or car. Very street consience, doesn't bark alot, just a real easy going dog. Can take her anywhere without a leash. Only her grey muzzle gives her age away.

This is  the oldest picture taken a few years ago in the house

both of the above were taken this spring, below was 3 weeks ago playing with a rock at the river. She is far from the prettiest thing ever but she is a great pet and a super easy dog to live with. I got her from a rescue, she was abandoned at the vet when her owner couldn't afford the pin she needed in her leg when she fell out the car window as a 7 mo old pup. I have had her since she was about 9 months old. She is very healthy and an easy keeper, she will eat anything, crates on command, loads up in the car on demand, a little rusty on the OB since it has been inconsistant and she was only worked by my daughter for the past 6 yrs. Daughter is almost 15 and has no time for the dog and I hate to see her sitting here in the kennel. If there is a better home out there for her, I will give her up. If not, she will stay here. I took her to class with me today to get her out and everybody just loved her laid back attitude.

I ship in and out of ABE, Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton on Delta, counter-to-counter, in 400-450 crates all the time, regardless of dog size. They can't take any larger crate on the commuter planes in and out of there so they don't ask questions. Takes a little longer for the dog to get where its going, but so far they haven't stopped me.
