Hi

It was fantastic to see so many Longcoats, i watched the class during my lunch break from my judging the Breed and i must say what a wonderful sight it was.  It would be nice if other shows took a leaf from the League's book.

 Regards Paul Rattigan.

Congratulations on  your very beautiful dogs. And I  also agree it would be great to see you all again around the breed ring.

Every breed club should now seriously consider having a "GSD long coat" show alongside their Breed Show.

They should be able to compete with the rest of the GSDs.  It is so silly to split the classes as they are all GSDs. Oh well step by step I guess .

Sorry cant agree wuzzup ...
But I do agree with David, at very least it would help to bump the entry's at the shows.

Lovely dogs.  I have  questions:  Where was this show?  Is there normally a "long coat" class in shows in whatever country this was?

I noticed not only longcoats, but a white gsd and I think the dog above itin thephotos is a liver.  At least, it looked like a dark liver to me. Very pretty.  (Could just be the photo).  Are all colors shown wherever this show was held?

The show was in Leicester UK
The club running the show was The GSD League of Great Britain,
We do not usually have long coats or non standard colours in breed shows
This was the first time I has seen it done, and it was well received by everyone at the show.
THE SHOW WAS IN MEMORY OF TONY HOWSON A WELL RESPECTED PERSON HERE IN THE UK SHOW SCENE.

Those beautiful long coats are too flashy to have in the same ring with the standard coats. It would be too distracting for the judges.

Myfanwy,

Thank you for the information.  How many longcoats and non-standard dogs were entered?  Was there a requirement that the dogs all be intact?

Wuzzup,

I think you are right--he does look blue.  Check the one above that one. It is a dark liver, isn't it?

Nice to see the opportunity given for the longcoats and the non-standard colors.  They are beautiful dogs.

I'd like to see something like that here in the US.  Wonder if the non-standards would be shown, though?
