| Kaffirdog, I think that you have Blinkers on. Why wait until you find a problem down the line by that time you have sold Generations of problem puppies.????? NOT YOUR PROBLEM ?????????????? WHAT AN ATTITUDE One would have to be an IDIOT to purchase a puppy from you Isn't it about time your Canine Council took charge of this and refused to register the progeny of non x-rayed animals. |

| Before I bred the litter I did research and got advice. I talked to the breeder of Kobold, to the SV and other well known breeders in Germany. I got Kobold x-rayed twice, once here and once in Germany under the SV scheme, as I trust them more than the KC.. No one in Germany advised me not to breed from Kobold. He is a very athletic powerful dog and he comes from healthy lines and he was already over 2 years of age when got x-rayed. I considered all facts and decided to breed from him. Re Trude, she indeed obtained a serious injury (got bitten by a rottie) and was limping for months. Trude has so much to offer and her elbow score would be permitted to breed in Germany so I did not see any reason not to breed from her and I am very pleased with the resulting litter and so are the new owners. I still have a Kobold/Trude son here and I will get pre x-rays of him soon to see what we have got. I bred the litter to produce total working dogs and not statistics. Talking on the internet and doing something in the real world are two very different things. All the best Ulf |

| Wildmoor. It must have been devastating for you to have a dog with 0-0 hips with bad elbows. I knew a breeder ( since passed away ) that had the same scenario, the difference being that he didn't send the elbows for scoring like you rightly did so nobody was any the wiser !. I know this because his wife worked with my wife ..... women chatter !. Sujay. I cant really understand the point of your post, I agree the lineage is a very important factor but surely all breeders whether working or not would prefer to have sound scored dogs that would lessen the chance of having mobility problems at a later age. You seem to be knocking people that play ball with their dogs , referring to them as the safer option like you think the safer option in your eyes is not tough enough for your type of work which is so not true , even the toughest of working dogs are entitled to some chill out time. You talk as if dogs are just tools !. A good dog should be versatile enough to work in whatever discipline the owner chooses to follow. Are you sayng your dogs are not scored ?. |

| Sujay's breeding practises are highly questionable to say the least. READ USER COMMENT SECTION on his dog Manus. Father/daughter breeding, most puppies from resulting litter culled, daughter from litter bred at 14 months? What's more worrying is the Kennel Club accepted registrations from Both litters. Just to clarify , I have nothing against you as a person I was just shocked by your and your partners lack of breeding ethics, in trudes case it does look more genetic with her sister having the same score, pity more from her litter were not scored. Even though your puppies from that litter could score good very often these things do skip a generation then come back with a vengeance, I dont consider looking at a clear xray picture to be a statistic . Away from the breeding part I've been told from a very trustworthy source that you are indeed a very good dog trainer and very genuine, I have in fact recommended you this week to someone for schutzhund training. |

| Bazza. I agree with you. I did read the old thread and the user comments where sujay admitted to the culling of all but three of the puppies yet he says he hasent got enough puppies to go round !. I do believe the kennel club would not register any further litters of this nature. Correct me if I'm wrong , the kennel club have changed their registration rules so they do not register progeny from close related matings anymore. |

| Petowner, yes I was but he can still do the job he was purchased for to me it is now irrelevant that he has been castrated as I would rather that than pass problems on to future generations, especialy has I told that a sibbling although not scored was operated on to have bone shaved from the elbow. Sujay even a dog in severe pain will work and not show it! as I found out when a dog I had many years ago worked a track at 6am was pts at 11am due to internal haemorrage from haemangiosarcoma. Ulf, you stated you spoke with other breeders and the SV did you speak with any Orthopeadic specialist or geneticist? |

| thank you all very much. (ive been away on holiday so apols everyone for my late reply). i had backed off a little from replying when things got "interesting". i'm not a complete novice but i'm shocked at the "ive never had a problem so i don't score" attitude - i foolishly thought we were all serious about improving our breed - maybe not. have done some research and i agree the bva system is not that great and if the kc were "serious" about reducing h/d and e/d in various breeds it could be done by reducing the permissable scores that would be registered. appears that they are more interested £££, politics and saving some face in the wake of "pedigree dogs exposed". I think the Pennhip system is far superior. anyway. I have contacted Lynn and she has been most helpful (thank you for suggesting her pam etc). i will contact everyone else today. thank you all once again. |

| Mick, Check out www.worldclasssportdogs.com to see our litters. We have two on the ground right now, both close to 6 months old. We have a few which will be good for Schutzhund or PP and a few that will be good for SAR or pet quality. All would be great candidates for breeding. Thanks and good luck!!! |
