| I haven't had the time to read all the posts to their entirety, but I wanted to add, GREAT job on your drawings. At only 13, you're doing an excellent job. Make sure you take art classes in school and don't limit youself. Hopefully you will have a good teacher. I was born with this talent as you were but life got busy thus I "got away" from it. Keep at it, and don't get too involved with asking advice such as here as you will not get the information that's truly needed to succeed. You need to find your own talent and works for you. Each artist has their own style. You are just that, an artist. Your talent is very gifted and just keep drawing! Brandi |

brandi, i wasnt born with this talent. it took me years of art class during my lunchtimes and after school classes before i learnt how to even draw a good tree. I only learnt how to draw dogs like this about 1 1/2 months ago. Tigermouse thanks for the support. LOL |

| I messed with drawing GSD a few years ago, when I had my first GSD (okay, more than a few years ago). I did a lot of my early drawings with traced outlines, mainly because I had trouble with getting the angles of the back and hind legs right. Once I learned that, then I began to draw GSD without tracing...Some of them looked a lot like yours, Hamza, and I was a little older than you, 16. I don't know that if I tried to draw a GSD now, it would even resemble one. Keep working on learning, and I do agree with the above suggestions of coloring in the dog using pencil strokes in the direction the hair grows naturally. Also, using charcoals will allow you to blend the black and gray shades better. Try drawing larger subjects, which gives you the room to perfect details, such as eyes, teeth, and nails. Most importantly, enjoy what you are doing! That's the point of art, not utter perfection. If you want a dog reproduced with utter perfection, take a photo. Have fun. That's the point. And don't ever let anyone insult you or your talents. There's room in the world for every kind of art, and yours to me speaks of great talent. Crys |

| Hamza, Every artist has their unique "signature"....do not try to draw or "create" like anyone else. Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh..(just to name a few)...ALL had their very own unique style. Some people find their work beautiful, while others cannot find the beauty in their work........it's all in the eyes of the beholder. Your "work"...while you are just beginning....looks to have an "abstract feel" about it...... Why not find your "flare"?...draw with your own unique style?! The most beautiful thing about art is......it doesn't have to look perfect...to be perfect! Best of luck! Robin |
