UPDATE ON SADIE (GSD BEATEN WITH CHAIN) VIDEO & PHOTOS FACEBOOK by Abby Normal on 28 April 2012 - 08:16 |
It is a joy to see the progress that this beautiful girl has made. For those who couldn't look, have a look now. There is a video of her playing with a GSD friend. |

| I am one of those people who just couldn't look before. The early photos are horrific. Oh my! Even though I know she is doing really great now I cried when I saw them. Whoever did this to her is a monster. Thankfully somone stepped in and saved her. She is now absolutely gorgeous and a coatie too :) ! If I was able, I would volunteer to adopt her. I just have too much on my plate now with Shelby and the care she requires. I just sent in a donation to help this sweet girl. Thank you for sharing, Abby. |

| Very true Blitzen. People who do things like this to innocent helpless beings deserve at the very least the same they have inflicted.I am a peaceful person , but this is something that brings out such anger in me. |

| Thank you all for looking, I know how hard it is.....it took my breath away when I saw what someone had done to her. I hope that you all found the video's and not just the photo's, I am putting another link here which I think goes to the main page I checked out the other link and it went to the album of photos, which was not my intention, that was to view only if you chose to! Now, if anyone wants to see the photo's just scroll down, but they are worth looking at to at least see how far she has come. But, the videos are a joy. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=190964851021381&se t=a.190964801021386.41915.190916657692867&type=1&theater#!/pages/Fur-Ever-Friends-Animal-Rescue-Sanctuary/190916657692867 Thank you everyone who has helped her, it really does make it all worthwhile to see her now though doesn't it? Blitzen - oh I agree. |

| keep up the good work rescuing these dogs! Really hard to see how people are capable of these acts....One would think if you hate your dog so much why would you not just take it off somewhere else rather than beating it like this. I guess the type of person that would do this is tough enough to beat a defenseless animal, but would not dare try it with someone that could/would fight back. Laws on animal cruelty are waay too lenient.....Maybe a good a** kicking could straighten these folks up! |

| Rammerjammer I think if they found out who did this I think you would have to wait in line ! I think this goes beyond hating a dog, I think this is a deep sickness in somebodies soul. I find it disturbing that such people exist among us. The great news is that they have reached their goal on fundraising for her operations. The slightly less good news is that they are not sure whether the original plan for surgery to try and restore the 'blink' reflex to her right eye is now an option, as the part they were going to borrow some tissue from is also damaged. Because her severely damaged eye is permanently open and so drying out, some damage to the cornea may be occurring, though they are introducing artificial tears to lubricate the eye (through the night as well now). She seems to be healing well elsewhere (on her back and sides) and if all else fails she may end up losing the eye, but she will manage without it OK. She has a long road now to learn to trust people and it is going to take a lot of work and commitment on the part of her rescuers. There seems to be no shortage of offers of homes for her when the day comes that she is ready. However, if I were her carer I think I may just end up keeping her. So thank you PDB'ers, I know that a good few hundred dollars came from us here to help her. |

| how could anyone do this to such a beautiful dog it just gets you so mad |

| Peter c It is quite beyond understanding isn't it? The only good thing is that for every one person like this there are a thousand who will step in and help. I received a thank you card today from the rescue with a photo of Sadie on the front, which was very nice. They are sending a thank you note to each and every person that donated. I think they have been stunned by people's generosity and support for this girl. |
