We have mega coyotes in East Texas and yes they will kill a calf  , not a cow   ..People here get a pair of   JACK A$$$$$

to roam with the cattle for that reason.....a donkey will get rid of any coyote that menaces the herd.....a lot of donkeys in East Texas.....

I would bet on the  coyote or  a couple of "traveling salesmen" pack dogs   instead of this gsd that was inside the night before...she would have been nasty and dirty , if she had the gumption to kill a calf...and if she is with heart worms , she would probably be winded and the owner of the dog would have known  ,,,,,,it takes an effort to kill a kicking calf...
