WHAT A JOKE! 50% OF FEMALES ARE VA IN THE USA, AND 40% OF MALES ARE VA! I LOOKED UP SOME OF THE VAs and there is a few horrible dogs |
by Ibrahim on 24 October 2011 - 17:25 |
| Really ?!!! I think this competition was a tough one, Many fine dogs were there, If I had authority I would add at least 5 more to the winning VAs. The contestors carried the torches and shed some light for others to follow, some do the work and others talk. Ibrahim |

| Two posts this person signed up to give make it just sound like sour grapes. Ignore it. If people want to bad mouth it all they have to do is join in and show us they do it better right? It is easy to critisize what you are not accomplishing. People do not get the results they want for their own dog or are not out there doing something in the ring of course are not happy with the show but either get active in fixing a problem if you see one or work on your dog to get better rating if that is the sour taste in your mouth. I have heard it is all politics excuses and I bet some of it does exist but I can tell you with 100 percent certainy I never paid anyone off and I am a no body and my dog did 3rd at a sieger and I was floored and did not expect it. You can have an awesome dog but it is what that day brings, the dogs of that day, the performance of the dogs of that day, the handling of that day, the condition of that day.... I am sure you get it by now. All you can do is your best, some times it is enough, sometimes it is not. If you think something is wrong about it get off the keyboard and in the ring to fix it. People with dogs that have great bitework, come on in and show how it is done? We keep hearing about this amazing concept of good bitework and that the show dogs have crap bitework but no one comes to show us. Congratulations to all of those that worked hard towards the show and competed no matter your placement. |

| I agree with the one poster who said it's a joke. I have no sour grapes, am not associated or affiliated with anyone or any dog, but there is no way 50% of the females and that high % of males should be VA. This has nothing to do with how the competitors did, just a comment on the placings. |
by GSDNewbie on 24 October 2011 - 19:10 |
| That is at least a proper way to discuss what you see as a problem. I can respect that. I do however think it should be made into a thread and not pinned to one congratulating some good people that should not have this here like Robin. |
by autobahn on 24 October 2011 - 19:48 |
| Yes I agree it should be made into its own thread and for that I apologize. I have nothing but respect for the people who go out there and compete. My post was more about the placings. Too many VAs given out, is all. |

| Big congratulations to all the successful competitors, and a big "keep at it!" to any whose rating were not as high as they would have liked. |

| Ibrahim, Thanks so much!!! We had a great time and are extremely proud of both Zamp for his V6 placing and his daughter Malibu for her SG7 placing in a very tough 12-18 female class. My expectations were exceeded this weekend and for this I am thankful!! It was also great to get to meet Robin and Carlos, sweet people that work hard and love the dogs above all else, and yes you can tell this from even just a short meeting it is that visible. I also got to meet Ruger1 and Keith G. and it was a pleasure, it is so fun to put a face to the names Barbie DiBernardo West Coast German Shepherds von der Westkuste |

| "I was so happy to see on Facebook this afternoon that the female that was lost for four days at the hotel was finally caught and is in safe hands now, I can't imagine what they were going through, I know I would have been an absolute wreck if it were my dog that was missing!!" They finally caught her; are you sure? That is so good to hear...I spent quite a bit of time out walking and driving around looking for her myself and have been worried about her! |
by Keith Grossman on 25 October 2011 - 17:50 |
| I just got an email from Rob and Michelle and she is, in fact, safe and is at the vet's office being checked out! |
by SchaeferhundSchH on 25 October 2011 - 18:14 |
| I am so glad Rob & Michelle found her! Did they catch her in the trap set up? I chased that dog on foot for 35 minutes in my flip flops ROFL. I called the hotel mid chase telling them to make an announcement a dog was missing. Rob, Michelle and Phil of Dei Precision almost had her cornered when she bolted our of sight. I drove around for 3 hours with them trying to search. I can't even imagine the worry and stress they went through. I am so glad they got her back. I'll give her this, that dog can move! Good thing I only had to show a 3-6 puppy the next day because I was exhausted. Dog1 I just wanted to say after seeing Waiko and his protection in person, that i love that dog. I got goosebumps watching him. I think he deserves a VA. |
by Ruger1 on 25 October 2011 - 18:36 |
| Yes, I agree with Schaeferhund...Waiko was very very nice IMO...Waiko was one of my favorites and his bite work was very nice IMO..I am not antisocial and I am dying to make comments on all these nice threads, but I am up to my ears in pics and video and want to get them up ASAP...I have Waiko video and pics that I will post here soon!!! Schaeferhund!!!! I missed seeing you...I could not find you...: ( |

Wanted to share a couple of our pictures from the show. Also need to mention how proud I am of my husband Kip for a great job helping me to double handle our dogs, this was his first Sieger show calling dogs and only his fourth show ever, he did great and was even able to take some strong correction from our great friend/handler Laura, actually the most correction came my way LOL!!! He did great though and I was so thankful to have him there. He also got to fish at the lake there at the park over the three days and caught a total of 15 bass, actually I think he may have been as happy about the fish he caught as he was about our dogs!! LOL |

| leoetta...Your dogs were absolutely lovely!!!!....Zamp was one of my personal favorites..: ) You have much to be proud of.... |
by Keith Grossman on 25 October 2011 - 19:07 |
| I'm not sure how they caught her. Animal control picked up the trap some time Sunday evening...I'm not sure if they brought it back or what. Funny you should mention your husband double handling, Leoetta; this was Christa's second show ever and while she didn't doble handle per se, I did have her calling Axel from one corner and then hiding and the girl can get loud! One of Robin's bunch said he felt like he was at a Guns 'n' Roses concert. :D I will attest that Deanna is not anti-social. In fact, she was sort of the forum social director at NASS! |
by SchaeferhundSchH on 25 October 2011 - 19:10 |
| Ruger I didn't see you either. :( I was usually wearing my NASS hoodie or my pink track jacket for running in and hanging out with our handlers. I was there for the bitework, got lots of videos. I didn't go on Sunday. We had to begin our trip back home Sunday. |
