My vet pointed out the right femoral head is quite a bit smaller than the left one.  Will this be a problem?  Thanks in advance, Jan ;-)

The dog is rotated and out-of-position. This radiograph should be made again before a serious determination is made. The rotation to the right only exaggerates what may be a smaller femoral head. The bones should be identical in size as much as possible, but no living thing comprised of more than one (1) cell has perfect physical symmetry.

Really crappy positioning on that film!  Even the testicles are off kilter.  The xray should be redone for a better assessment.

one femur head looks smaller than the other because the entire pelvis is rotated - one  hip is closer to the x-ray than the other.  Guessing from these x-rays that the dogs'  hips are fine.  Look tight and clean.  But, as already said - hard to make a real assessment with the dog positioned so crooked and twisted.

I would not submit that xray for evaluation. Personally I would tell the vet to re take it as it is not acceptable. Your dogs hips look good but OFA may not see it that way.
