I had my girl's fursaver powder coated glitter purple :-p

Yes, I so went there

I know, I know, how embarassing for her but I figure when your dog weighs 30 pounds soaking wet you might as well have fun with it all

LOL
Does it rub off?  that would be my biggest concern. Who does this and what does it cost?

Nope, it does not rub off.  It is more solid than regular paint.  Here is a wikipedia description of powder coating:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powder_coating

If you look up powder coating in the yellow pages of your phone book (if in the USA that is), you will find local powder coaters like the one that did my collar:

It is not necessarily cheap.  The color that I used due to the glitter is a more expensive color and so it cost 20.00 to have the collar done.

I never would have thought of that!  It would protect the metal so you could get away without paying for stainless if you were inclined.

Pretty girl you have there.  She may only be 30 lbs but I have a feeling she isn't exactly a delicate flower.

I love the glitter. I mentioned on that thread my daughter's dog has a hot pink prong collar. It was done via powder coating as well.

You sure can, Sue. Bear in mind with use the powder coating does chip, particularly around the chain section of the pinch collar.
