The American Police Canine Association has just concluded the holding of the 8th annual K-9 Winter "Sniff-Off" on March 3, 2012 in Martinsville, Indiana. The A.P.C.A. wishes to thank the Martinsville Police Department and the Morgan County Sheriff's Department for hosting this year's event. Several law enforcement narcotics detection teams from the midwest region competed for the three top awards titles. This year's honors went to a rookie K-9 team who recently graduated from K-9 Narcotics Detection School and who has only a year's experience in the law enforcement profession. Officer Timothy N. True & K-9 Biker, Nashville, Indiana Police Department are the 2012 A.P.C.A. Sniff-Off "Champion Team" with a winning competition search time of 6 minutes and 30 seconds.

Second place, the "Runner-up Team" was presented to Officer Michael A. Watts & K-9 Luke, Linton, Indiana Police Department with a competition search time of 7 minutes and 3 seconds. Third place, the "Semi-Finalist Team" was awarded to Deputy Mark E. Wilson & K-9 Orkan, Morgan County, Indiana Sheriff's Department with a competition search time of 7 minutes and 15 seconds. This year's judges were A.P.C.A. Master Trainer Denny A. Kunkel, Master Trainer Robert A. Lewis, Trainer Scott R. Adam and Master Trainer Mike Johnson.
