This is very sad news and my condolences to all of his owners and those that were closely involved with this beautiful dog.
Can anyone please share what it was that caused his death and what the possible future health concerns would be for people that have progeny from him to be aware of.

Really, Really, lovely looking male, its a shame i wasn't able to come to the British Sieger show, and see this dog in person, but must say this dog looks a stunner.
And i didn't realise how much hard work goes in to these top young dogs, He's a credit to Mr Kartheiser, and all the TEAM mentioned below, well done sir, in guiding this dog to top placements.

And its nice to see a owner paying credit were credits due, WELL DONE!!

I want to say "Thank You" to some people, who helped having this great success with Astana Alfons.

First I want to say Thank you to Peter Bucklitsch, who took care of Alfons til September 2006.
Then there were many people involved in the training and showing of Alfons.
Thanks to the helper "Christof Schmitz" who did a great work preparing Alfons for the Siegerschau bite-work.
Thanks to Nicole Meyer and Klaus Meyer for their great training of Alfons!
Special thanks to the handler of Alfons, Melanie Dupont who handled Alfons at the German Siegerschau, Werner Kötters for handling him at the Belgique Siegerschau and Jackie Young who handled him at the Britisch Siegershow! All of you did a super job!

Last I want to say thank you to Mr. Reinhardt Meyer for the super placement V 16 for this young male at the Siegerschau 2007 in Braunschweig and finally a special thanks to Mr. Helmut Buß who was judging the British Siegershow and rated Alfons V 1!
Thanks also to Mr. Buß and John Ward who made it possible and gave us the opportunity to demonstrate Alfons off leash!
Never forget, German Shepherds are working dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you to all of you!

Congratulations Julie & Tom, I look forward to seeing him in the BRITISH SIEGER - I am informed that two VA males from last years German Sieger Show will also be shown at this years BRITISH SIEGER, I sincerely hope so, it will provide a fabulous spectacle for everybody, as well as the opportunity for many to actually see them in the ring, performing. It will also provide a great opportunity to compare the males in the UK with them, especially those in the ADULT CLASS.

Update.
SG14 in the Jugendklasse at the Sieger show in 2006.
Saw a very nervous and emotional Julie outside the ring brimming with pride, I can only imagine your feelings as he walkied into the big ring for his lap of honour, bet some tissues were out!! You and Tom have every reason to be proud, he is a excellent male, and what a fantastic acheivement!
A massive well done to you both and the team in Germany, and wish you all the very best with him in the future.
Regards Sting.

Good Luck at Sieger show Tom & Julie! This outstanding youngster has performed superbly all season and very deserving of a top place this year. Good Luck guys.

This is a dog pedigree, used by breeders and breed enthusiasts to see the ancestry and line-breeding of that individual dog. The pedigree page also contains links to the dogs siblings and progeny (if any exist). For dog owners with purebred dogs this is an excellent resource to study their dog's lineage.
