I policed with Aryn for a short time, but had tested him for my department and helped his original handler train him for patrol and narcotics detection. He was tall at 26 inches, slight narrow build, overall well put together. He had good drive, with sound nerves. He enjoyed police work, especially bitework. While with another handler he took a bullet in his chest while apprehending a suspect who had just committed a home invasion, murdering the father and son who were living there. The handler and backup officer returned fire, killing the suspect. Aryn recoverd from his injuries but was unable to return to police work. He lived the remaining years with his handler and protecting the rest of his family.
