I agree with others that people like the OP who are inexperienced (to say the least) and want to breed their dogs need to be discouraged from doing so.

If they don't understand why then yes educate but in no way should anyone be helping things like this happen.

So those of you who do breed were experienced the very first time you produced a litter? A person can get experience in time. What does it even mean not to breed if you are not experienced? Everyone has to start somewhere. The OP is just asking questions, which is good. It's not up to you if his bitch is 'worth' breeding or not. It's his dog and his choice, and I'm sure he will make the right one as he learns more.

Huh! Trouble is, for every one new owner / breeder who asks the right questions, finds out more, does the health tests (as the OP, to their credit, is doing), and then breeds for the first time, there are a hundred others who suffer from the delusion they don't have to bother with any of that 'learning'; they have a dog, automatically they should breed it, it is their choice & their 'right' to do what they like.

Not sure why many people feel this way, maybe its the profit motive ? But we end up with a flooded market for mediocre and sick dogs, with far too many eventually ending up in rescue centres. THAT is why people sound warnings on threads like these.

People can always inquire by pm, to seek information that does not address the question that is answered.
