3x5 how would temperament be? Any other issues to worry about?

by Prager on 30 October 2018 - 17:10

No problem with such linebreeding per se. There is too much worry about this but it does not support my experience. One of the best litters I have bred is this:

But a lot depends on the rest of the dogs. Please post the pedigree of your combination you are asking about.

3 x 5 is not a linebreeding in my book anymore, furthermore it makes a world of difference if you got, for example, vito, or eros, or ellute or como in your dogs, will give 100 % different outcome

Are you referring to Como vom Rurdamm?

Line breeding is for lazy people and breeders , people think to get quick result,,,what about the individual quality from that stud and breeding female thats much more important....and what about the rest from the dogs in the pedigree line breeding is not only focus about one individual dog what do you know about that dogs behind Toms pedigree you will also do linebreeding on them. !!!

Train your own dogs males and FEMALES  breed your own dogs look at your offspring and evaluete them. this cost maybe some years but you know what you can expect this is what real quality breeders do .

90 percent of today people will never learn only look to that fancy famous podium stud dogs from the past and they hope
they can clone this with linebreeding

You can linebreed what you went if your stud dog or breeding female is low quality what do you expect?????? If the stud and female are that same high quality  as that  specific dog I would say yes you will have more chance.

But high quality  GSD females with some extra power are hard to find today....IMO

breeders  focus to much on males.

I agree with Duke that it depends a lot on who Tom is coming through as well as the other dogs in pedigree like Prager said.

by Prager on 31 October 2018 - 05:10

Line breeding is for lazy people and breeders.

I think we should have a thread for dumbest posts. This one would take the 1st prize.

( sorry moderators but I could not let this statement go unchallenged. .)

If you read good I,m not again linebreeding if you exacly know what you doing have work with that lines and offspring...but many breeders have never work with that line or offspring and go to cheapest way find any(crap)dog with that specific famous dog in that pedigree and forget the rest of that dogs what have influence... who most people never have seen or only see on videos and go linebreed on this dogs. If i look to that ALPINE K 9 breeding and poor sport videos and handling this is exacly is a perfect example from  marketing breeders with big mouth blah blah blah. The ironic point this guy give idiot advice about breeding dogs ,training  and his own breeding philosophy and look @ his poor handling with master trainers ..   maybe some beginners in the game are stupid enough believe all that sh*t, ...

Its a waste of time to go in discussion with people like this............IMO

Could someone explain what the purpose of that "training" session was?
