Duke with all the respect I,m not attacking you personal I give only a personal obeservation I,m not a fan global from those dogs, have spoken some GSD people about this in the past also . Haven,t seen any good ones what I like and also handlers who I have spoken. Other people who I don,t know can be very happy with them good for you...Thumbs Up

I know also in KNPV some handlers will bring  pedigree GSD for certification because they get much more money than X malinois

especial the Chinese  guys over there will pay ... I always stay far away from that people  today  KNPV is also a money game.

black malinois, old czech line dogs are real good for policework and personal protection, not sportdogs so much, there are some lines bringing higher drive dogs but generally, they dont exel for points/sport and or specteculair long bites etc.

they fit better in homes due to great on/of switch and have better balance prey/agression, this is generally speaking, and old lines, todays czech breeding mostly, is is sport oriented like west germany, so you will find same names and drive levels as in west german lines/dogs

and like I said you should get new people where you get your info, the GSD breeder you are talking to for info doesnot know much, especially about czech dogs/lines, several are doing well in KNPV,and  one famous breeder recently bought two czech line dogs , wonder why he did that

I am sure Czech dogs are not worse than West European dogs, "we" are just not used to them, and outside of the inner KNPV circle it's difficult to hear about the Czech participants as long as they don't compete on high level.

Would you mind to share their names/peds?

@ Duke I spoke breeders and handlers who are much more longer in the game than you some over 40 years
serious oldschool breeders and handlers, They bought that czech/ddr dogs long time ago when you never breed any GSD. There is one club in Drenthe who certified more than 50 GSD in the KNPV over all those years. Most of them are some dissapointed about that Czech GSD same as for the DDR lines. Have seen some of them myself and work with them also a helper I,m not impressed about them at all what make them any special  to the western GSD., not saying every western GSD is real quality. or every eastern dog is so bad I don,t have seen every dog in the world

I will understand you will defend that Czech lines as breeder and we can discuss this until  christmas don,t have the time for it

Black Malinois....I think you are only one that have said anything about Czech dogs being special. What I have heard others and myself say is that they have made a significant impact as working dog in Law Enforcement community.
I understand the views of Czech dogs in your world( knpv), but there is no disputing their contribution to the LE world in past 25 years. That’s all I’m saying, as one who has handled, bred, trained, and judged LE dogs since 1972. That doesn’t mean I know all, but of the thousands of LE dogs I have seen or worked with over the years, I think I know good working dog when I see it. There are very few special dogs in my sight, but I have seen them in German, Dutch( German) , Scandinavian, and Czech lines, but they were the exception. Mostly, I see good working dogs.

jessyjones: When you write you are breeding in Male Bloodlines...are you also choosing the female according to her (similar or the same) male bloodlines?
Prager/hans: of course!!!

This all sore loser talk. Do you see Czech breeders of OldStyle Dogs badmouthing here on this thread Belgian breeders? No/? Because they do not have to. Always as soon I have some pot calling kettle black and badmouthing Old Style Czech dogs talking about cheap commercialism and diluting and so on, I know that we are on the right track. Why if Czech dogs are so bad anybody would take time and energy to badmouth them. Bacause they feel threatened. Let say Poland or Hungary does not have really good working dog tradition yet no one badmouths their dogs,... think about it. So when balckmalionois get on his  soapbox about Czech dogs, I am just smiling.

Hans,

You have been writing negatively about West German Working lines / IPO dogs for years ...

Can we use the same logic? i.e. do you write neagtively about West German dogs because you feel threatened???
