So, Northernlady, Megan has offered you a replacement puppy, and you either want it, or you dont. But from what I understand, you are being offered 1rellacement and done! You pay for vet shots and shipping, and the ordeal will be over. Why are you making this so difficult.there never was a contract on the first puppy, So if Megan wasnt a reputable breeder, she would have told you, she didnt have a written contract so you really have nothing to accuse her of, but being that she does have integrity. And a wonderful reputation She offered you a puppy. So take it. And stop this stupid slandering of a very fine breeder.

DONT BEWARE OF MEGAN, SHE HAS INTEGRITY, HONESTY, IS REVEIRED BY MANY IN HER FEILD OF BREEDING, TITLING AND SHOW, AND WILL HELP ANYONE WHO ASKS HER. SHE HAS BEEN A MENTOR TO ME, AND EVEN MORE SHE HAS BEEN MY FRIEND, AND HAS ALWAYS DONE HER BEST TO BRING TOP SHOW QUALITY TO ME AND ALL HER CLIENTS

I have bought several dogs from Megan in the past couple years. I have been super happy with all the dogs she and Adri have found for me. They have been very helpful anytime I needed anything or have any questions.

I'm shocked at this post. Megan (and Adri) have been amazing to work with. She has personally helped me import 2 amazing dogs! In fact, we had a female lined up for me to purchase, and she messaged me immediately after meeting her that she didn't feel she was a good fit for my program. How stand up is that?!! She could have easily just sent the dog and made the sale, but she knew the temperament I desired and turned me away from the sale. She's a class act and I trust her 100% with our transactions.

I find something so unusual about this story that I am seeking clarification, please, I don't care who from.

The first puppy, which proved unsatisfactory, was not of particularly special breeding, right ? The replacement puppy offered is / would be of VA parentage. IME it would not be unusual at all for the breeder (in this case Megan / k9neiko), who is clearly using better stock animals these days, not to be ABLE* to produce a lesser-quality breeding (to exactly 'match' the first puppy); and would therefore have been - like many other breeders - wanting to charge something extra, over & above the orginal pup's price, ( + Shipping), on the 'better' pup. Because it is a probably better pup, in some respect(s). That seems pretty 'normal' practice. [I'm not commenting on the 'rights & wrongs' of it.]

Whether or not the amount of that price would be adjusted to take into account the presence or absence of any existing previous Contract or other agreements is a matter for the two parties to resolve, in any given case.

So why in these circumstances is the OP, northernshepherdlady, apparently expecting to be treated differently / exceptionally ?  Can anyone come up with the answer ?

*certainly not have a litter on the off-chance someone would want one, replacement, pup from that litter ... most breeders move onward & upward, rather than go backward.

This seems to be a relevant question to ask, because whether or not there were problems with the condition the first puppy arrived in, the main question seems to be the puppy later turning out to be unsuitable for breeding. (Vet's reasons for this not given here - which I find interesting, in itself.)

Yes, for sure, Hundmutter, it's great that breeders are always trying to improve the quality of their dogs. However, I think it is only fair and ethical that this important fact should be disclosed PRIOR TO the sale being finalized; not after the fact; especially when the additional amount being requested was $3,000 for a $1,900 puppy....more than double. Had I been told a replacement puppy would cost $3,000 I would not have taken Juno, as much as it would have broken my heart to leave him in the situation he was in.

Never was an additional 3000 asked-------so my offer still stands A REPLACEMENT pup ---one pup and then that was the extent of my offer

I will say once again I have a litter here now that is under a week old. She was offered one from this litter on the phone the other night. She can take one from this litter when they are 10 weeks old as that is when they are old enough to fly from here to Canada--or USA. If she does not except my offer once again then this transaction will be considered resolved.

by northernshepherdlady on 18 July 2018 - 13:07

I will happily accept the puppy you offer as long as there is no cost to me and I too would consider this transaction resolved. Thank You!
