There's def a place for pet dogs and low drive/family type dogs but we are talking about nerves , when someone says bad nerves Iam thinking an unstable animal who will never cope with the everyday world , people/loud noises , even simple task of getting in or out of a car or walking on certain floors or just being spooky in unfamiliar places , such dog is a liability imo, I've had dogs like that , they become notorious fear biters and unstable and really have no place in a home/family because who knows what or who is gonna trigger something in them.

An imagewell, how and when do you make that decision?

My boy Bear here is a perfect example on this not being just cut and dry.

I sent out a perfectly confident, happy 8 week old puppy.

When I got him back after a year of mistreatment, he was no where near the "pup" I sold. He was starved, left isolated and apparently physically abused.

He came back with food aggression, bald eyes, nose and rear end . And terrified of men.

I didn't know what would become of him.

After only one month back home where he was fed, deflea'd and resocialized,  he brushed the dirt off and moved on.

When the Co ordinator of NYS police k9 unit seen video of him, they came out to evaluate him. That same day he left he was on the training field in Cooperstown with k9 trainers and proceeded to sail easily on to graduation, this his new name "Easy", now dual purpose k9 Warrensburg NY.

Yes, the genetics there that allowed him to recover, BUT, the environment CAN put a whooping on a dog.

But he was genetically sound to begin with and a strong dog can recover , a weak nervy dog will not , I don't care if the best dog trainer raised him
