And what according to you the breed specific instinct of a GSD is? Herding? That's why you want to throw a green GSD into a ground full of sheep to see the result?

The GSD/BSD/DSD type of dogs (same ancestors) were used for their predatory instinct (prey drive), and the dogs which attacked the sheep due to extreme prey drive were culled. The predatory mask was also for a reason, so that the sheep were not too comfortable getting near them.

Now, does that explain why a green GSD would try to attack sheep, as per your example of instinct test?

BTW, even Border Collies have a reputation of wandering to neighborhood ranches at night and kill some of their sheep.

And vk-- BC , Kelpie, Huntaway, GSD... each have their own style of herding. No way you can compare them with each other.

And Duke, all the Herding dogs do not need a herding title to prove they are extraordinary, only good enough to be considered for breeding from them. Your own standard can be way higher than set breeding requirements, but breeding requirements are higher than BYB standard. Did you get it?

BE, BYBs will go out of business only when they will not be allowed to register their dogs with the KC. That's what titling/breed surveying is intended for.

now Swarn, take your last sentence and see

than BYB will send their dogs or papers to title with passing scores and after that agree with you all the way

Well I have heard breeders here justify the over exaggerated trot because the legs look like a corral to the sheep, yes breeders on this forum have actually said that, the trot fanatic types. With that kind of trot focussed rhetoric and selection goal one could conclude they are breeding herding dogs.

Sorry I laughed out loud even typing that.

Curious swarm which one of those pups would you select and why, hypothetical.

So, you don't want the BYBs to face even that problem?!

A breeding requirement standard is the standard of the average dogs of the breed. It is made tougher when the average gets better, and vice versa. That's why KCs outside Germany is reluctant to implement it, the average is NOT worth a standard.

Born 1992, best you can do?

Look at the ped, fine accomplishments in Germany then US - AKC, CD....FFS, a fine line goes down the toilet soon as it hits the states.

Anyhoo, I am referring to the video, which pup and why. There is a range of styles and ability.

by Swarnendu on 29 April 2017 - 11:04

I saw that you have posted two videos. The first one I have seen and there's nothing to dislike the pups.

The second one say "an error has occurred" with some error code. So nothing to compare from for now.

First clip out of the litter which pup, why?
Stop acting dumb.
