Here is what I am looking for, I of course may have to be a bit flexible with one or two.

AKC Registered
ASL
Champion
Title on the other end (BN,RN,RA,RE,CD etc)
CGC/CGCA/CGCU
OFA H/E
DM MM
Does not carry for coat
Solid temperament, low drive if possible.
Not overly extreme, masculine in type.

If anyone has a dog who checks most/all of those boxes, or knows of a dog who does, let me know, I have a bitch (who I will gladly discuss with the stud owner) I am searching for a stud for. I have been looking quite diligently for some time and its hard as most people don't advertise if their male carries for coat, or don't test for DM etc

Thank you in advance!

Low drive GSD??

Regardless, If I were looking for anything to do with ASLs, I would ask Xeph, a user on here. She has enjoyed success with her ASLs.

What does your bitch have that would make a stud owner consider the service?

by FateKennel on 18 April 2017 - 02:04

Low drive FOR a GSD. I don't need a dog in a coma, the bitch is high drive so I would like to moderate her a touch. She would be a hard dog for many people to handle, so thinking about homes with her pups.

My bitch has many fantastic attributes and breed worthy specimen, would be more than happy to discuss her with a stud owner.

She has been titled with more to come, health tested and is incredibly sound, a super fun dog, a natural pleaser, easy mover, no extremes.

So you want a dog who will balance the drive, not a low drive dog. If the low drive dog doesn't produce themselves, then you won't get what you want. Honestly, I would look for a stud who is known to reproduce with consistency in temperament. Not a guarantee, of course, but if he reproduces balance, that could even out your bitch, too. Have you looked on FB groups? There aren't too many ASL folks here, I don't think, but there are some FB groups. There is a DM clear FB stud group that is primarily ASL dogs, that I know of. It was open to all dogs, then we working dog folks got the boot, LOL.

I've got a boy that checks almost all of those boxes. I'm looking to increase drive, don't know if he carries for coat or not. Not really inclined to check, to be honest. His mother carries (found that out this last litter, sire of the first two didn't carry, so had no idea).

More tested boys to come this summer. None have been bred yet. Soul Eater will be bred for the first time this summer.

BTW, I'm thinking you mean DM NN?  Because MM is at risk

I've looked on FB, I'm in no rush. Just looking to find the right dog so checking all available resources. Not looking to numb her drives, I adore her spirit, just looking to even her out a little. I appreciate the suggestions.

I would be open to a nice boy from another line, but I know I am more likely to find the dog I am looking for from ASL so I narrowed it down to help people qualify what I am looking for.

Thank you for the help thus far.

Def meant NN. Fat fingers sorry. Def not an AA, MAY negotiate on a NA if everything else was superb.

My bitch is a coat, honestly her biggest fault which isn't a deal breaker to me obviously, but its imperative to me that the boy not be coat factored as I am not striving to produce a whole litter of coats.
