Baerenfangs I would agree with you IF you were talking about knowledge that was not in written document form that a person put together over many years to use as a means to make a living. Should this person pass on the information is not lost.

We are not taking about training techniques  that would be gone if the owner of that knowledge died.

Baerenfangs

I own a business that does pedigrees for people

http://www.gsdpedigree.com/ and I also sell the WinSIS-X database http://winsisx-usa.com/, so why would I give this information for free when it is my livelihood. As I stated, I am always willing to help someone research a couple of dogs, and there are many, many free hours of research that I have done for free.

I have shared my complete database with about 10 of my closest friends, so the information will not be lost, and of course have left all of my books, mags, database etc to someone that I know who will continue the research.

What have you shared with the dog world?  There are at least 10 dogs that you registered on PDB that have nothing except for a name...no date of Birth or registration number. Plus 4-5 more that are missing either the DOB or the reg. nbr.  So don't point a finger at me.

Yhecht has helped lots of people who were in real problem situations! Thank you!

Years ago I received from breeders their hand written pedigrees containing a very famous stud. I saw him in a show also. Paid AKC for two official pedigrees containing this dog.

This dog's sire was listed as some junk yard dog. Called AKC and the person told me that AKC does not make mistakes so could not get my money back or a corrected pedigree.

Talked to this lady and she found that the breeders were correct and AKC wrong. This was gobs of years ago and the dog was Brovado [if that was the spelling].

So, yes this person is great!!!
