One of our local county animal shelters has a 1 - 2 yr old male, black and tan purebred GSD. He is obviously a working dog as he is very high drive. He is slow to accept strangers but bonds to his handler. He is not for the beginner and will only be adopted to an experienced GSD owner. There are no rescues in the area that are experienced enough to work with him. Unfortunately his time is running out at the shelter. Apparently gone when I checked. I passed the info along but I did not see the dog on the shelter Web site.

Bub he is still there. I spoke to the director today.He is a black and tan male but only about 65 lbs body weight. Director says he does not want to euthanize and he is really trying to place this dog with experience folks bec the dog can be very aggressive. If you email the director he will send you pics and history that they have.
The dog actually entered someone's property and refused to leave ( and the animal shelter came and was able to remove .him )

The Darke County shelter is in Greenville, OH. That is about 30 miles NW of Dayton in far western Ohio, almost to the Indiana state line.
