Swarnendu I agree whole heartedly that color is a bonus and that is not my only criteria as clearly my whole goal is to have a healthy well bred dog that is part of the family for a long time. But my question was not if a healthy well bred dog could be found it was specifically if a healthly well bred red and black shepherd was elusive as a unicorn and based on the answers, the genetics, and the concerns noted it may well be a unicorn. I would not use color as the only criteria or the first criteria in picking any dog, I was only stating a wish list in a perfect world of which color is part of that.
