Kim just confirmed her home, kennels, & all out buildings are gone...
She has beautiful DDR GSDs, & the cutest Corgis...
She is currently at her sisters, but it's not too far away, I hope they are not evacuated again. She had just been evacuated the day before & allowed to return when the firemen announced a mandatory reevacuation. So, she did get all her dogs crates & paperwork in her truck. Lucky, considering how fast that fire moved.

I have been in contact with Kim since the fire started on Saturday... I talked to her on Saturday right after she was evacuated and then on Sunday when she had to evacuate again. Kim got out with her dogs, the clothes she was wearing and her dogs binders with all their information and that was it. She has lost EVERYTHING... her house and puppy building as well as garage/dog building are all destroyed. I saw the picture this evening of her house. It brought tears to my eyes, it is just a pile of ashes are chard remains.

She has had a lot of people step up and donate to help her out, myself included. I told her tonight that it is times like these that we truly see who our friends are. It also really humbled me to see the people who have come forward to help, even people that just know Kim thru PDB, Facebook, etc..

The only good thing that has come out of this is the cause the F'ing bastard that set this fire! This fire was an ARSON.. I hope the asshole rots in hell for this!!

I did see where donations could be sent to her PayPal account as well at Kim@justk9s.com However, in order for Kim to receive the donated funds without PayPal taking a fee, once you get into her PayPal account email click on "other payment options" and then click on "friend to friend" to send any funds that you wish to donate. Just providing another option in addition to the gofundme link above.

OMG, seriously? I did not see the part about a arsonist, I was awake following events for the last 2 days & finally passed out about 4:30 this am, after my dogs got an early breakfast & outing. I'd want to introduce him to my male, late at night, in a dark alley somewhere. That's horrible.
I am so glad to hear from you Jyl, I'm not sure how close you are to these fires, but I've been thinking about you, too. Just because I don't post here often anymore, doesn't mean I have forgotten any of my friends here. I love you all, & always will.
I don't have a lot of financial means, social security leaves nothing to spare, so the most effective thing I can do is spread the word. But I think Kim could use almost anything. Even the Walmart near her is closed. She did mention that she doesn't have anyplace to store larger items, so probably money is best.

Jackie, I am a little over an hour away from the Clayton fire.. so I am in no danger at all. The fire is heading away from where I live. I can think of a few not so nice things that this guy deserves for what he did to Kim and the other people up there. I know 3 people, including Kim, in that area that lost their house. I hope he gets punished to the FULLEST extent.

 

Kim does not have a lot of space to store large items where she is at now. So I do agree that money is probably the best right now for her. I am however, working on getting some food donated to her.

If I get what I am hoping I will just store it here for her.

So glad they caught the arsonist. May justice be served. The pictures are devastating to think about, how all those homes and lives of strangers were attacked by this evil individual.

Hang in there Kim, you will rebuild with the help of friends and caring others.
