HI Tig, good to *see* you :)

Everyone has moved, the neighborhood has turned over and its all 30 somethings with infants, so I have no back up people to call on. Thats one of the reasons we decided to permanently move. We have a house in Florida where we have wintered the past several years, and its so laid back, on the island we purchased a home on, we decided it was time to permanently move.

I found a behavorist certified in all canine behaviors, who daily works with dogs like CJ. She said its not a matter of obedience with CJ, as much as a distrust of strangers, again, due to his rough beginning in life. He is not scared of thunder, july 4th fireworks or anything. M80"s can go off, I jump, but CJ could care less. July 4th fireworks are a treat for him- he watches and seems amazed by the display. I will be meeting her next week sometime, with CJ, and hopefully we can get him to learn that people will not hurt him. She feels he is not an aggressive dog, as he never bit anyone when he has had plenty of opportunity to do so, but relies on his posturing to send a message to keep away from me and my mom, because I dont trust you. She also feels the upheaval with the move is stressing me terribly, which it is, and he is picking up on that stress, which is exacerbating the problem. We shall see....

xoxo
