I mentioned cross, kelpies are no longer rare in the states. Try and get out more.

Quite a following now, after some good one's from my area displaced the initial batch of crappy show lines that went over on false pretences.

I could see her possibly being GSD or possibly being a Kelpie X GSD. (Honestly resembles the latter more. The facial structure doesn't scream GSD to me.) And vk4gsd is right, Kelpies are more common than people think. I'm located in Northern California and we get them in our shelter every now and then. Not super common by any means, but they are out there.

Looks exactly like the the dog in the pic when I googled Kelpie. Same markings & everything. I've never heard of this type of dog, haven't been around long enough. Anyways beautiful dog

Dog in OP is bigger and longer coat than a pure kelpie.

FYI, kelpies come in many coat colours from fawn to red. Show lines not so much.

This is my dog Daisy May, who was found as a stray in a town nearby where I live, by my mother and we adopted Daisy when no one claimed her:

I made this poster to show people who called her a mutt that she is most likely not one. The local vet we use did not know if she was a mutt or a purebred Kelpie either. Most people think she is Husky x GSD or Doberman x GSD when they see her as Kelpies are not well known as a breed in the US. I think she is a purebred Kelpie as there is a breeder only a mile from where she was found of working herding Kelpies. We think she was dumped by the breeder as she kills small animals such as our neighbor's chickens, thus making her a bad dog for working on a farm. We also have to keep her kenneled if outside so she doesn't go after any more chickens or our outside cat which she also tries to kill. And when I checked the local Kelpie breeder out online one time, I saw a Kelpie that was a perfect twin for Daisy on their website down to the dark smutty color on her muzzle even. Sadly here in Kentucky breeders like to dump dogs that they don't want in the countryside. And I live in said countryside so I have adopted several animals after no one claimed them. Up to 7 dogs and 5 cats now. And thanks to our 5 kennels in our backyard plus seeing us walk so many dogs people think we are running a shelter and just dump animals on us. Usually cats these days. We have too many animals as is so we have to take any new ones to the local animal shelter.

Here are pictures of some of my dogs. It is unfortunate that we are losing colors of GSd to the point that some normal colors are considered mix .  The diog on picture may be Kelpie but there were GSDs  in past who  had same markings.

It could be kelpie but the same markings were on old GSDs.

Above is a historical picture of a GSD with the samwe markings.

Adolf Hitler had a dog with the same markings I am not sure but I think his name was Prinz . Here is a historical picture.
