Susie, he is in South Korea. Who knows what kind of training facility, and a young pup we don't know of what kind of temperament....is he able to cope with 'guard dog' training ?

If i understand the OP correctly, the dog eats his breakfast but does not finish his dinner???? Based on personal experience (I am deff not an expert) my dog only eats when he is hungry. My dog will only pick at his breakfast and leave most of it. However, if i take him to the park first thing in the morning and run him hard or spend some time working in OB and Protection then he will eat his entire breakfast. Same thing goes for dinner.

In reality we know nothing...
What would I teach a puppy in case I want to make money, and call it "guard dog training" without harming the dog?
I really thought about it...

Some bitework ( sleeve, hidden sleeve ) - no "out"
barking on command
bark and hold ( prey )
basics like sit, heel, down on leash
basic recall

What else?

What I really forgot to mention:
Welcome, valp! The members of this board are always willing to help, don´t care in case we sometimes loose the read thread, that´s no bad will, but simply out of interest and curiosity.
I hope you enjoy your dog, sounds like he is doing well besides the feeding issue.
He is still very young, and it´s a long way to go.
Are there many German Shepherds over there, and are there any clubs?
All the best with your pup!

Susie, to me that is foundation IPO training....excluding hiden sleeve. Dog could not be called a 'guard dog' with only foundation IPO.
I don't know 'what else' to do with a puppy. But I know people who claim to be trainers who would 'pour it on' regardless of the dog or pup's development.

I second Susie's above post...welcome and enjoy your pup. He will adjust and all will be good.

Hey guys thank you so much for your concern and answers to my question!!!!! It really helped

Maybe I shouldn't have used the world "guard dog" he received an SchH.
I can assure all of you that he was not in any way mistreated or abused in training. The trainer is not a type of person who would use cruelty on dogs.
Before he went to training camp, he spent 3 months with our family and developed strong bonding. Also we visited him every week so that he wouldn't forget us.

I contacted the trainer and asked him about Sam (my pup's name). He suggested me to mix 5:5 with Royal Canin German Shepherd junior and Royal Canin mid-size junior to increase his appetite. Surprising, Sam finally finished his meal.
I still needs to wait and see if he continues to eat but I believe Sam just needs little bit of time adjusting to new environment.

Once again, I would like to thank you all for the help and will get back to you if anything happens with Sam.
I wish to contribute and spent quality time here with the members of this web-site.

Sincerely
Ryun Ha from South Korea

Good news, Ryun.
Please understand that abuse was not implied. But all training must be tailored to the individual dog's development....same as teaching a child.

Great news he is doing better and given he has been to what sounds like a fairly active training facility and schedule and different grounds than yours I would probably take in a stool sample to your vet for evaluation and probable worming. Just my thoughts unless that has been done very recently and if it has been done, with what?? You need this for your records anyway and possibly even if it has been done time to do another worming. I had to worm my young boy at that age a couple of times after he came from his training facility. Just my thoughts, good luck with your puppy. Nan

I would also try to find a different food as my boy was on that when I got him and did not do very well and did not even like it. Also just my thoughts; don't know what you may have available to you but let us know and we will try to find a food that may be more palatable to your guy. Nan
