You don't need to prove anything, Xeph.

Xeph

Mmm, I suppose I don't. I've proven plenty enough by the many minds I have changed about American dogs...including some WL people.

If it weren't for attitudes like what I just experienced, I might have kept up with IPO, but there's no reason to go through all the BS and spend hours with people I dislike when I can evaluate my dogs as necessary through herding.

And, surprise, surprise, even in AKC trials, where you give some direction, a dog is expected to do a lot of work on its own, with little help. There is a laid out pattern to follow, but how you get there is almost entirely up to you, and requires an incredible amount of faith and trust in your dog, particularly at the higher levels when you are forced, almost start to finish, to stand in one spot and let your dog do his job

Ah but Xeph , the full details of such Competitions escape the 'knowledge'
of posters who want to press one point and one point only; that "work" for
any dog is always to be a primed weapon to use in case of personal attack.
IMO there is no point in arguing with such people !

Incidentally, if what was said about the Malinois was true, there would
internationally be NO Show classes for that breed (or dogs entered). Since
that is patently obviously untrue, lets leave the fantasists to their own world
vision and get on with 'real life'; in which, fortunately the USA is not the
only source of dogs, or of Trials and Shows, and Blitzen can be reassured
that there IS the sort of co-operation between GSD people on both sides
of the artificial SL / WL 'divide' and, indeed, where that divide is (still) no-
where near as significant as in the States anyway

I really don't know why you guys rise to the bait from Haz. He just likes to stir the pot with his points of view. We have all seen video's of some poor working dogs who have the sleeve held out for them, or, they are just plain out and out overaggressive.

Haz has his Malinois and it is nothing to do with the world of GSD's so why not just ignore him and let him get on with his lounge carpet Malinois keeping warm in front of the fire while he watches his video's.

Many of the people in our local club own both working and showlines, we all train together.

I often wonder why the Malinois is quickly becoming the favorite of Police K-9 most military and other sports. Then all I have to do is look at some of these videos to see why and my question is quickly answered. I said it before but even the German Military as well as the Polizei from the country where the breed was founded use more Malinois then GSDs. How pathetic!!
