Star wanted to check out where the gunshot was coming from, so she got full marks on that. The Canadian test is called the TEC, and has a traffic-steady portion, but I can't find any information on how it's scored.

I really didn't explain Star's reactions to the decoy and the guy in the temperament test very well. They are BOTH fake, really, but Star KNOWS she's to go after the decoy, while for the temperament test, she was in her service dog work mode, where she's not supposed to go up to people unless I allow it.

It's called 'discernment' and it's why a GSD with a proper temperament can be safely trained for schutzhund, and still be a good, safe service dog out in public!

Never tested him with a gun, he not scared of thunder, But he is trained to protect the home. He will engage 100% Umbrella might be 20 sec delay if opened and closed not sure good test, But a stick will not change his form.

Our first GSD pinned the meter reader against fence. The meter reader came in the backyard with out letting me know, the dog was out and barked like he had lost his mind. The meter reader held him off with a plastic bucket. The dog wasn't really trying to bite the guy, just keeping strangers out. He was my running partner, always knew he would protect me.

A substitute mailman was walking up the driveway as we were walking out. My GSD ran up to him barking at him like as if he was about to hurt me, so my GSD scared the living crap out of him and he jumped on top of the roof of my car. My boy wasn't going to bite him but he was letting him know that it wasn't his house and that he had to stop him,and boy did he ever. It was more comical until 3 days later I received a letter in my mailbox saying that I had a dog at large and this was my 1st warning. Now my usual mailman knows him bye name, but he still gets barked at but its all ok.
