Anyhoo, dog is going for a 10k off leash run with the hounds tonight in no moon, no trails to follow and thick vegetation, hope he doesn't kill anyone.

"yogidog" or whatever your real-name is........take it easy, fellow. Make your point, without sliding into the ghetto mode at the drop of a dime, while snuck behind a keyboard. Keep biting that tongue, since this is not the ghetto.

PS: I flagged your prior post, but see that it is still around.

Last post on this. aay still nothing to ofter on the actual post .why don't you Google or buy a book or better still go to any decent club you won't be able to do any bite work without control and obidence. so what have I said wrong. I love the dog. I love the video. I love the raw aggressive instinct. I love the condition of the dog. This dog is a dog I could work with. What I don't like is vk won't show an other side of the dog .Iv have stated this in the last 6 or 7 videos vk has kindly posted. Vk know how I feel about his dog. So look at the other videos see the full coment before jumping on board.

VK, the German Shepherd was made to work and train to very high levels. I love your dog! The training that you are doing with your dog is consistent with the makeup and legacy of this breed. Good Job!! Keep in mind that many people today don't understand this type of dog, talking about a subject and understanding a subject can often be light years away. The dog loves the work, you are learning, disregard the negative chatter from those that may not understand.

So Gustav I totally understand vk dog. Are u saying a ppd should not desplay control and obidence during bite work. nagative chater is not what is ment to come accross it's encouraging feed back that came from me with encouragement to add control. So as you said people who are miles away from understanding these dogs can see it's not a visious dog these are well trained and totally reliable.

Back to my original questions. Will a dog like vk's dog, not necessarily his dog, out and does the dog or the handler make the decisions as to when to bite and who to bite and where to bite? How much control should the handler actually have over the dog when it goes into attack mode (or whatever the experts call it). Is that control taught to the dog from the beginning or does it come later or not at all? Are the decisions always trusted to the dog or does it vary depending on what the goals for that dog.

I've been to police dog trials and those dogs appear to be totally under control of the handler at all times. Same at most IPO trials. I'm not trying to overwhelm anyone with "chatter" I truly do not understand the usefulness of any dog that is not under control of it's handler. And I am not saying vk's dogs isn't.

Yogi, i don't mean to discredit your reputation in the working world, but it seems that you and i are once again on the same page. Our posts were written at the same time Beer Mug. I respond out of ignorance of the issue, you because you are trying to drive home a point.
